Seth Quinn is finally home....

It's been a long journey. After a harrowing boyhood with his drug-addicted mother, he'd been taken in by the Quinn family, growing up with three older brothers who'd watched over him with love.

Now a grown man returning from Europe as a successful painter, Seth is settling down on Maryland's Eastern Shore, surrounded once again by Cam, Ethan, and Phillip, their wives and children - all the blessed chaos of the extended Quinn clan. Finally, he's back in the little blue-and-white house where there's always a boat at the dock, a rocker on the porch, and a dog in the yard.

Still, a lot has changed in St. Christopher since he's been gone - and the most intriguing change of all is the presence of Dru Whitcomb Banks. A city girl who has opened a florist shop in this seaside town, she craves independence and the challenge of establishing herself without the influence of her wealthy connections. In Seth, she sees another kind of challenge - a challenge she can't resist.

But storms are brewing that are about to put their relationship to the test. Dru's past has made her sensitive to deception and slow to trust. And Seth's past has made him a target of blackmail - as a secret he's kept hidden for years threatens to explode, destroying his new life and his new love.

Critic reviews

"[Roberts has] once again crafted a poignant and often humorous tale. True to style, she has also thrown in just enough of the paranormal to tantalize. Guaranteed to please the many fans who were waiting for Seth's story." ( Library Journal)
"James Daniels's voice conveys convincing female desire, as well as rough male camaraderie, and singes the listener's ears with Roberts's trademark passion." ( AudioFile)

Set 18 years since the boatyard was started in Sea Swept, Seth Quinn is grown up and comes home to Maryland.
While his years in Europe have given him his training and recognition as a painter, it wasn’t far enough to shed Gloria DeLauter, who has continued to extort money from him since he was a teenager.
Now she’s followed him home and threatens his family again, and the love he’s found with Dru. It takes all of them to come together with a plan to stop Gloria.
Daniels’ narration is just ok, but would have been better with a little more seasoning.

One of Nora Roberts better series. And Chesapeake Blue is the best of the 4.

James Daniels narrates very well. The men sound like men and the females sound like strong females not like a mocking male voice.

Enjoyed the book. The audio version was very good

Love this 4-book series by Nora Roberts. Her books are always great but sometimes the narrators are not too effective. Love narrators of this series. Voices are emotional and believably unique while the storylines while not always surprising are pleasing and filled with emotion.

Great series

Just finished the series and found that I enjoyed this one the best. It's a light read, the story line the same in all the books; boy meets girl etc. etc. The storyline was incidental to the getting together of the couples in the first three books. I enjoy some romance however I want my storyline more. The series
would not be complete without the fourth book.
I prefer to listen to Nora Roberts as to reading her. It's easy to follow while I am driving. There were three narrators and the one in book 3 and book 4 were both very good. If you like Nora
Roberts I would recommend these books.
