Publisher's summary

I’m the businessman everyone wants to be and the man every woman wants to tie down. They say I reek of old money and I’m sexy as sin. I’m not looking for love but when Hadlea Lloyd books me to renovate her new place, all I can think about is becoming a sinner. She's hotter than hell and tough as nails. And isn't interested in anything I have to offer. She's guarded and has every reason to be, making me want so much more. Until, my past comes back to haunt me. Thinking I’ve found the truth, I soon find out, it's anything but. Fate always has a way of creeping in, making us choose what’s worth fighting for.

Good story!

Leaona Luxx knows how to capture the intricacies of relationships with the bad, the good and the highly emotional. What started out as a love story, quickly turned into a horror story. Malone (One) and Hadlea (Lea) met on the beach during an intense storm and immediately had feelings that were equally intense. A connection was forged and it appeared to be destined for lasting love. Not so fast. Lea has a past filled with heartache, emotional and physical abuse, and she's left with zero self-esteem. One is a man who almost everybody desires; men want to be him and women want him as their future. He married someone who wanted him for what he could give her, a disaster that lasted ten years. Montgomery isn't about to give him up without a fight, even though he's made it perfectly clear that it's not ever going to happen. One and Lea truly love each other, but Lea's keeping secrets that she can't/won't divulge. She's convinced that she doesn't deserve love, that she can never be loved and that she's done such horrible things that can't be forgiven. Lea goes from a sweet and caring woman, into someone too stupid to live. Yes, she suffered at the hands of her brother and the other men he passed her off to in return for his drugs. She's being extorted by one of the rapists who won't give up the gravy train. The rapes, the shame, the guilt were hard to hear, but it was drawn out too long. She keeps pushing One away but loves him too much to stay away. After about the hundredth time she screams at him to go, he does. It wouldn't be a love story if they didn't get their act together, but the journey is chaotic and some important plotlines were not tied up. She's pregnant with twins and someone's trying to kill her and them. There are accidents at One's businesses. He's taken captive and, although we know who, it's really not fleshed out as to why. I needed more of an ending and the story is crying for an extended epilogue. This is the first in the series and I'm hoping that more of the answers will come to light in future books.
Stella Rose did an excellent job with the narration. Her dynamic voice brought each character to life and she moved the story at perfect pace.

Hum……..

I would say there are alot of triggers in this story and it is confusing at times.
