Story
With powerful forces working behind the scenes, Daisy seemed to be on the path to what may very well be a rousing victory. Or a glorious death, should she fail. For obvious reasons, she hoped for the former rather than the latter. She and her friends had persevered and come out on the other side time and again. Now they just had to pull together one last time to stand against their greatest foe. Success would mean victory. Failure would mean the loss of all they held dear.

It was looking like Lady Luck had quite a grudge against him. In fact, at this point merely crashing the multi-billion-dollar ship he had helped design would have felt like winning the lottery compared to his current dilemma. If only he were so lucky. Things had started off all right - that is, until a freak wormhole unexpectedly swallowed his ship, leaving him stranded on an unknown planet far, far from home.

Only a fool would target the deadliest order of assassins in the galaxy. The galaxy had no shortage of fools. Someone had attacked the Order, and done so with both blades and magic. It was utterly unheard of, but even the most elite of killers sometimes faced the unexpected, and on this occasion, that could even mean their demise. Story
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Story
In the 20th century Earth sent probes, transmissions, and welcoming messages to the stars. Unfortunately, someone noticed. The Galactics arrived with their battle fleet in 2052. Rather than being exterminated under a barrage of hell-burners, Earth joined their vast Empire. Swearing allegiance to our distant alien overlords wasn't the only requirement for survival. We also had to have something of value to trade, something that neighboring planets would pay their hard-earned credits to buy. As most of the local worlds were too civilized to have a proper army, the only valuable service Earth could provide came in the form of soldiers....

Publisher's Summary
Thrown for the biggest loop she would likely ever be forced to experience, Daisy found herself at a complete loss for once. While a course of action normally made itself clear to her, her new predicament made following her instincts impossibly dangerous. One misstep, and she not only might harm those she cared for, but could even fracture the universe itself.
Forced to rely on her unlikely alliances along with her own wits, Daisy would soon find herself going head-to-head with the most brutal race of alien conquerors the galaxy had ever known.
If she succeeded, freedom was the prize. If she failed, oppression, slavery, and death awaited the vanquished.
The stakes were high and the pressure higher, but with the help of friends, both old and new, she was determined to give it her all. But if she failed, all was exactly what she might lose.

Chasing Daisy
The Clockwork Chimera, Book 4
By: Scott Baron
Narrated by: Vivienne Leheny
I love this series and all the wonderful characters! The terrific wild adventures this crew gets into is crazy! When the last book ended Daisy had jumped in space but they find they jumped in time! Now what? How to get back? How to not change history? What can they do? So fun what happens! Adventure, humor, science fiction, great characters, plot, and world building makes these books habit forming!
The narrator performs perfectly! She makes the story pop!

Daisy doesn't let you down
An instance of a book where I missed the codes, so I bought it.
If you enjoy Sci-Fi you'll enjoy this series, Aliens, AI, Space Battles... everything you want in a good Sci-Fi series. That said we're four books in so you probably know that by now, and I'm just preaching to the choir. If you do come across this and you haven't read the rest of the series, go do that, the first book sets a great pace and the series maintains quality.

Great world building!
I really enjoy how the writer wrote, the characters feel like people. They have growth as they traverse their world, strong conversations and interactions and fantastic world building. The audio reading is great, each character is uniquely voiced and is fantastically done! Overall the story is great! (Non-Spoiler foreshadowing, the reading improves as she learns the characters throughout each book and voice alone will help you know which character is talking!)

Lots of Unexpected Moments, Loved It
Chasing Daisy, the fourth book in the Clockwork Chimera series and it feels like we’re just getting started. We’re introduced to a whole new story here (still a continuation) but it’s a brand new adventure for Daisy. Just when I think I have Baron figured out he goes and flips the script on me.
The story in this one is really enjoyable, and Baron is able to put this sense of unease through the entire thing. The funniest part is that the specific unease that I’m talking about doesn’t really have a solution in this book, but I have a feeling very early in book 5 we’re going to find out what is going on.
There are lots of unexpected scenes in Chasing Daisy and it’s an interesting alternate telling of events (and also interesting way to deal with the changes that you make when you jump through time). Baron does a great job grounding the entire story in great characters so it’s a breeze even when they’re jumping around time and space.
Vivienne Leheny, as always, crushes this one – voicing Daisy, the voice in her head, and the slew of other characters in the Clockwork Chimera series to perfection. Both series by Baron are proof what a great narration can do to the stories. They bring them to life and turn your book into a story. It’s awesome to be a part of.
Overall, another fantastic addition to this series and one that I absolutely loved listening to. Baron is a master storyteller and weaves stories that leave you glad you read them when you’re finished. Both the Clockwork Chimera and The Dragon Mage series are some of my favorite Sci-Fi tales and I’ve been recommending them to all of my friends.

Entertainment from beginning to end...
The amount of pre planning and preparation had to have taken months to write this saga so, this book could work out the way that it did.
Scott Baron knows how develop characters in a way that few can. As a reader or listener...he allows you time to ponder on their true intentions before slapping you with the truth.
Great book, awesome story and Vivienne Leheny is fantastic as always doing narrations.
Next Please....C.B.Luke

Time travel?
I normally do not like books that contain time travel as it is handled as an easy solution to complicated problems. Scott Baron does a great job at not only answering some questions about paradox's in his universe but also uses this book to answer how some of the less believable events in the previous books happened. Enjoy the ride as Daisy and crew try to figure out what they can and can't influence while back in time meeting old and new friends.

An incredible look from the other side
I was lucky enough to recieve a review copy of this book. and the series keeps on giving. The book itself is a plot twist on the books coming before it, and the fact that everything was signposted from the very first book makes it even better.
This book shows another side of the story that I did not see coming, and is still supported by the excellent narration. I'm very much looking forward to where the story goes next.
