Publisher's summary

A stand-alone, enemies-to-lovers office romance set within the Rydeville Elite world.

Demi

Dropping out of college senior year was never part of my plan. But Dad needs me, and I'd move mountains for the only parent I’ve ever known - even working for the company that fired him.

My boss, Charlie, is determined to make my life a living hell, availing of every opportunity to undermine my confidence, humiliate, and threaten me. Sleeping with him the night of his wedding might have something to do with his attitude.

Or, the fact I’m the spitting image of the woman he really wants.

If our financial situation wasn’t so dire, I’d tell Charlie to stick his job up his delectable butt. But I’m trapped, and things are only getting worse. Because the more layers I uncover, the more I realize he is nothing l expected and everything I crave.

Charlie

If there was a manual for all the ways a person could mess up his life, it’d have my name written on it.

I can’t undo the things I’ve done, no matter how badly I want to, and every day is a constant reminder of my epic failure. Especially her.

It’s as if Demi has been put on this earth to punish me. To inflict more torture and pain. Because every second I’m around her, she makes me feel things I don’t want to feel. So, I lash out. Doing my best to push her away.

Until I realize she’s everything I never knew I needed, and the fight becomes a new battle - one to win her heart.

Due to mature content and themes, this book is recommended to listeners ages 18 and over. This is a slightly extended version of the version that appeared in the Bully Me anthology, containing one extra chapter and two epilogues and ending with a HEA and no cliff-hanger.

A fantastic read!

He's lash out...
Doing his best to push her away...
Until he realizes she’s everything he never knew he needed, and the fight becomes a new battle - one to win her heart...

I loved this book and our hero - I think he may be my favourite of all the guys (might be in the minority here). I'm so glad the story was extended a bit so we got more of this couple.

Tantalising and brilliant book. Excellent, descriptive and hooking writing.

The narrators were, simply put, brilliant. It was intriguing listening to them as they brought the characters alive.

Awesome Story & Narration🎧 Captivating & Heartfelt

I loved every minute of this awesome enemies to lovers romance. The story is well written and grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it for the entire book. This book is Demi and Charlie’s story, it is set in the “Rydeville Elite” world but it only gives a tiny glimpse of what is going on in that world, a world run by twisted power players. Charlie is the son of one of the top players, growing up he was molded to fill his fathers shoes so he not only knows how screwed up that world is he was groomed to be one of it’s future leaders. Charlie takes over running the family business after his father passes away. Demi’s father used to work at that company until he fell ill, Demi needing a job to help take care of her father takes a job at the same company and become Charles assistant, first the father and then the son. Their first encounter is smoking, a mistake though, Demi has not know the son was stepping in to his fathers job. Charles was not a fan of Demi working there, he treated her like crap but kept her there to make sure she did not talk about what happened the night they met. The chemistry between these two is explosive but so is the angst. Charles can not longer deny his feelings and he starts rethink his life but he thinks bringing her into his life will put her in danger. I loved how everything plays out in this book, the story is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, heartfelt and emotional moments and some hot romance. Also loved how much Charlie grew as a person. Siobhan Davis, thank you for another awesome story and emotional rollercoaster ride. It was great to see some of the other characters again, love the connection Demi had with Abby.

🎧📚🎧 And for the narration, Sarah Puckett and Michael Gallagher are fantastic narrators and voice artists. They bring these characters to life, giving each their own voice and personality. They do an awesome job portraying the character, grasping each persona and playing the role with perfection, sounding just as I picture them to sound. You could hear the heart and passion they put into their work as they capture all the characters emotions and project them into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen.

One of my faves

as usual with Siobhan's books once you start reading you get completely sucked in! its so exciting to be back in the Rydeville elite world and even though i kinda sorta hated Charlie before because of what was happening with Abby before... i now love him!

yeah Siobhan can definitely make you change your mind about a character. this book gives you a whole new perspective on who Charlie is and damn is he one cold but deep down broken soul. Siobhan definitely made him redeemable in my eyes and lets just say wow because i didn't think that would ever happen.

Charlie and Demi's attraction causes sparks to fly and my girl doesn't take his crap because she fights back!
you guys definitely need to read this! it was soooo good! definitely one of my 5 star reads and i highly recommend this!

Two thumbs up

Very interesting. I’ve read the first three rydeville books so I had background knowledge but the author did a great job of including enough info that it was not necessary. I love how everything and everyone tied together. Really enjoyed the epilogues but note #spoiler alert if you listen to epilogue 2.

Good book

*slight spoilers*

So it took me a while to listen to this book, as I was very upset with Charlie after the first 3 books. But I finally got over it lol. I’m not familiar with either of these narrators, the female was ok but the male, I didn’t care for him that much he sounded too old for a guy in his early twenties.
Anyway... the story.... we being with Charlie’s wedding night when he left Abby and went to hi work where he ends up sleeping with Demi and confesses afterwards that he was married. This begins their hate relationship. I feel like Demi should have not given in so easily to Charlie, like she tried to be strong and hate him and as soon as he showed interest she forgot to be upset. I mean since his marriage wasn’t real she couldn’t be mad about that but his treatment of her was rude. The whole twist with her and Abby was so random it kind of had me scratching my head. I wish the book would have been longer. There was a lot of stuff packed into 6 hours and the ending was so rushed. It went from them breaking up to her father dying to them getting engaged in like 30 minutes. It was a good book I just wished it had been longer with more details.

This book wasn’t all that exciting for me. I loved the first 3 books. What I did love about this book was the 2nd epilogue. It really wrapped up Abby, Charlie and Jackson’s families. I do wish there was a story about Drew. Did he ever find Jane? That is a story that would be exciting

Charlie

I really loved getting to know Charlie on a more personal level. We got glimpses of him in the first 3 books about K and Abby. I'm also really glad we got more of the background story of his wedding night. Charlie definitely has a darker side to him, and I'm totally here for it! Can't wait to dive into Jackson's story. Sarah Puckett and Michael Gallagher did an absolutely fantastic job narrating.

So good! Siobhan is brilliant at what she does!

Charlie was an amazing story Siobhan has a way of writing that grabs your emotions like no other. From the very beginning this story had my attention and dying to find out what happens next. From the Rydeville Elite Series I wasn't sure about Charlie being redeemable but Siobhan knows how to write an amazing story with damaged characters and happy endings. This was a definite page-turner. From the minute Demi met Charlie I knew we would be in for a crazy ride the chemistry between these two characters was crazy hot. And I just love that Demi was not the sit down and take it kind of girl she gave as good as she took. I also love the fact that we get to see Charlie's point of view and getting into his head really makes liking his character easier. We get to see some of the old characters from the first three books which is great because I loved them. This book definitely had me and my feelings all over the place and I can't wait to see what else comes from Siobhan! The narrators did a phenomenal job re-creating the story and bringing it to life. You could feel like you were right there with the characters listening to them tell a story. I have both read and listen to this and I can honestly say that the narration to the story made it so much better. I can’t wait to listen to the rest of the series!

Good story

I loved the Rydeville Elite series but Charlie was not one of my favorite characters by the end of the series but I enjoyed getting to hear his story and hearing about others from the series while it is a standalone I think it would be enjoyed more if you start with book 1 of the series as the story does tie into each other and gives you a better idea about what's going on in the world they live in. The female narrator did an amazing job I did not care for the male narrator

Charlie

Another great addition to this series involving the Elite. This book is an enemies to lovers to the max story that gets you so aggravated you want to smack some sense into Charlie a couple of times but he does redeem himself by the time it ends. Such a fun listen with really good narration.
