Really liking the story line

While it reminds me of another of my favorite series, the author had a unique style and the story is very good.

Great story

What a great story sadly didn’t get 5stars due to the A.I. That aside I’m sure I’ll end up giving this series a second read through if it ever gets a release with a proper voice actor!

Enjoyable

Fun listen and has some interesting twists and turns. Not easy to guess what is going to happen next. Problem with Virtua Voice or editing, since several time it says rouge when talking about the rogue. Additionally, some other small errors that do not dramatically affect the story.

F*@#!+g AI narration

I tried. I really did. if there is more than one way to pronounce a word it will, it cannot read an RPG statement list at all which is painful for an RPG book. It has 1 tone, and that is bored. life and death screamed exclamation is monotone. this story deserved better. This series was my first and second book of AI narration. I will avoid it going forward.

An interesting read

When I saw that this book was in my litrpg book listing and that it was a Virtual Voice production, I had to try it. The best part, I liked the story line. At least enough that I am two books into the series. As far as the Virtual Voice goes, I would break it down into two parts. Part one, clarity. The clarity is outstanding, and the male voice simulated is pleasant to the ear. As a narrator I would grade the voice high on clarity and easy to listen too. Part two, I would call emotional execution. This is where the wheels kind a came off the car. The normal emotion found in the reading of the text is choppy and does not well represent the human flow of speech. For this reason, certain passages stand out as odd and distract from the enjoyment of the read. I would conclude that the production of this kind of book is well on tract for what I would assume are the authors goals but just not there yet. :)
