You can't always recognize the face of your enemy.
Two thousand years ago, the legendary mathematical genius Archimedes was poised on the brink of the greatest discovery in human history when his life was brutally snuffed out. His murder has never been explained.
While investigating the strange Paracas skulls - believed by some to be the remains of extraterrestrial explorers - archaeologist Jade Ihara receives an unexpected visit from an old foe seeking her help against entities he calls "Changelings" and their plot to manufacture a false chapter of human history.
Hounded by radical extremists led by Atash Shah - a man bent on becoming the Mahdi prophesied to unite the Islamic world - and haunted by the faceless puppetmasters who secretly control the world, Jade must follow the trail of clues to uncover a deadly truth that has been erased from history.
Can she solve the mystery of Archimedes' murder, or will she become the next victim of the conspiracy to hide the truth?

I found I really enjoyed this book. It has the same action/adventure feel of the first book with decent narration. The plot is different from the first book which gives it an episodic feel (like the Indiana Jones movies). Actually, it is more like a short-run show called Hooten and the Lady, but with the Lady being more of a bad ass. Anyway, I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes these sorts of stories.
Another great Jade Ihara adventure!

Changeling is a fast paced archeology thriller that weaves in actual conspiracy theories which makes the story both entertaining and eerie. From the beginning to the end, it is full of non-stop action, and plenty of plot twists.
I have not listened to the Dane Maddock Adventures yet, but from reading other Audible member's reviews, it sounds like Jade was not a likable character in that series. However, in the Jade Ihara series, she is turning out to be one heck of a "Lara Croft," and I really like how she, and the "Professor" work together.
If you like conspiracies theories, and archeology, this story will be a good fit, and I do recommend it.
Conspiracies, Aliens, Archeology = Great Thriller!

What did you like best about Changeling? What did you like least?
Jade, she was a solid character, strong, smart, determined, and I liked the Professor too. I'd like to read more about them. What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
The conspiracy theory aspect was interesting, I enjoyed how the story started out in ancient times and progressed from there. The level of detail and background information was impressive. I also liked that I didn't guess the entire plotline; I found the addition of the Freemasons an interesting twist and I liked that they weren't the "key" to the story. What aspect of Jeffrey Kafer’s performance would you have changed?
I didn't get his Australian accent, it didn't sound like the Aussie's I know. He has a nice voice, and I would buy a book narrated by Jeffrey in the future. Was Changeling worth the listening time?
Yes, it was an enjoyable listen, I used 1.25 listening speed, which is my normal listening speed.Any additional comments?

Would you consider the audio edition of Changeling to be better than the print version?
I always enjoy the audio version of books if the narrator is great, which Jeffrey Kafer is. He is one of my favorites.Would you be willing to try another book from David Wood and Sean Ellis ? Why or why not?
Absolutely. Even tho I was not into this particular series as much as others, it was a good story and worth the listen.Which scene was your favorite?
When Jade fell into the water filled cavern. The descriptions of "seeing" other beings while trying to find a way to escape was very well done. My true favorite in this story was the Professor, I wanted more scenes with him.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Nothing too extreme.Any additional comments?
