Interesting history made very dry

I am sorry to say that I did not enjoy this audiobook. From the title, I was expecting some robust story-telling intended to entertain and excite children. What I got was a rather dry and formal treatise. Although it did include an overview of many legends and was informative, it was more like a lecture, and not something I would expect younger audiences (I am 55) to be engaged or entertained by. That part was then followed up by a rather pedantic lesson on how Celtic languages are disappearing, and how some governments are at fault. It seemed rather political, and above the level of most 'kids' interest. I hoped for something more lively, and I was disappointed. The narration, too, was very dry. However, I do give kudos to the narrator for the care he gave in pronouncing some very complex and tongue-twisting names. In summary, this might be a good read/listen for scholars, but I wouldn't recommend for kids.
