Publisher's summary

Cassie's world is filled with joy as her sister prepares to tie the knot, yet deep inside, she longs for a love like the one her sister has found. As a bridesmaid, Cassie finds herself living in her future brother-in-law's lakeside house for the summer. Little does she know that her life is about to take an unexpected turn.

The moment she meets Carmen, the fiancé's enigmatic and commanding elder sister, Cassie is drawn to her. Standing tall and exuding an aura of dominance, Carmen captivates Cassie with her coldness and mysterious scar. Despite her best efforts to get closer, Carmen keeps her at arm's length while refusing to let her leave. Cassie is left puzzled by this complex woman who both pushes her away and claims to keep her forever. Can Cassie handle Carmen's domineering ways?

Pushed to attend her brother's wedding against her will, Carmen's world is upended when she moves into their family's lake house for the summer. It is there that she encounters Cassie Hartford, a woman whose beauty leaves Carmen speechless. Determined to keep Cassie at bay, Carmen tries to be as mean and rude as possible, hoping to drive her away. But Cassie surprises her with unwavering kindness and treats her with love and respect, shattering Carmen's defenses.

As emotions stir within her, Carmen finds herself both enticed and repulsed by this newfound obsession. Fearful of the consequences of her desires, she pushes Cassie away, believing it's for her own good. Yet, deep down, Carmen yearns to make Cassie a permanent part of her life, to make her a bride.

This was an interesting story. I would have liked a little more background on Carmen, there were hints, but not on her military career.

Insta-love. Insta-heat. Insta-good!

Carmen’s Bride by Jenna Kent is my first insta-love story. While insta-love is not my typical go-to trope, I really enjoyed this book. Carmen, former military, is forced to attend her brother’s wedding where she meets Cassie, who is in an “in between” place in life. The two fall for each other instantly — love at first sight. Even though the attraction is there, Cassie can’t seem to break through Carmen’s emotional barriers. I don’t want to spoil too much but of course there is an HEA.
P.S. The spice is this book is niiice and spicy for you.

A Good Read

I really enjoyed this book. The narration was seamless and the story was fast paced and entertaining! Aria Mitchell did a great job of making both MC’s tones and voices believable. I’d totally read this book again and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a quick, entertaining read.

Great Narration and scene transitions.

I felt the narrator Aria did a great job distinguishing between the character. It was very easy to follow along and I could easily tell each character as they transitioned back and forth. The story line was interesting and the sex scenes were classy. All in all a great listen.
