She’s falling in love with the one man she can’t trust…

Elaina Robidoux knows how people view her: coldhearted, ambitious, ruthless. But it doesn’t matter. Running the family business is all she’s ever wanted and she’s so close she can almost taste it…until her father fires her and hires her nemesis—arrogant, unflappable Alex Tyson. Elaina may be hurt but she refuses to be defeated, so she throws herself into creating a business of her own. But she never dreamed that to close her first deal, she’d need Alex’s help…

Alex understands the power of a family legacy better than most and the last thing he wanted was to take that from Elaina. Her beauty and fierce strength are undeniable, but there’s a softer side that no one but him seems to see. She’s been taught that emotions are a liability, yet one impulsive kiss starts a chain reaction that neither of them wants to stop. But can love ignite—and survive—when secrets and loyalties collide?

“A romance for readers looking for equal parts passion and family drama.” —Kirkus Reviews on Forbidden Promises

“Politics, passion, and family drama combine to make a deliciously soapy second-chance, brother’s-best-friend romance. The story kept my attention. There were a lot of twists and turns in the story. The southern drawls were a little distracting, and Alex didn’t sound like a northerner at all. I would still recommend the book. Overall a good story.

Lots of family drama

This third book was just as good as the other two. I would highly recommend it to others.

Very enjoyable

The love story was covered by the detailed business story....I'm not sure that this story was as enjoyable as I had hoped. Also, the southern accent was ok.

Soild book, story dragged at times

I hated how the main female character had to own all her issues but there's no REAL acknowledgement of how her family created circumstances to put her on defense. Keeping secrets, talking about her behind her back, playing stupid in front of her... and some how everything is her fault? Her sister marries her ex husband but she's suppose to feel bad because they feel guilty?! Man, "f" all of that! Great character development and loved the narration. I keep seeing reviews complaining about the southern accents but I'd rather have a slightly off southern accent for southerners than the valley girl accent most of the female narrators give characters from the south!

Loved the story but...
