Sabrina and David sniffed out the killer!

I received this audiobook for free so that I could leave an honest review. I love these books by Meredith Potts. It still amazes me how well she writes conversations between the characters. This book is narrated from Sabrina's perspective. She contracts with the Treasure Cove police department to consult on murder cases since she has shown over and over again what a nose she has for sleuthing. She and her husband David investigate their friend Vanessa's boyfriend's murder. They gather a list of suspects and off they go, doggedly questioning reactionary and belligerent people. The book makes me want tell the suspects to just cooperate!

Lili Dubuque is a great reader. She knows how to draw you in and enjoy the story. With all the conversations, I still knew who was talking all the time.

I recommend this cozy mystery, in fact all of the Sabrina books! 😊

Candy Canes with a side of murder

Sabrina and David Carlson are at her parent's house eating dinner and discussing the upcoming holidays. Always gluttons for more sweets they head to get an eggnog after. The next Sabrina and her friends are discussing the holidays when she gets a call from her manager. She heads over to her friend and when she arrives it looks like murder had come for the holidays.
Lili Dubuque has a very relaxing calming voice that personified Sabrina and brings her to life.
fantastic audio and story.

Quick lunchtime escape

I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. These comments are wholly my own.
Overall rating 4.5
Story 4.5
Narration 4

This was a quick light listen and perfect sized for lunchtime. It was not a deep mystery so it would not be for anyone looking for anything hard-boiled. Instead this was a quick story, wrapped up in a 50 minute audiobook. There is a lot of character dialog which doesn't leave a lot of room for plot but keeps things moving along. The dialog makes it seem like you are right there with the characters.

Occasionally it was hard to discern the characters as the narrator did not modulate voices or tones much. The story context and character personalities help to make up for this.

Thank you for a quick lunchtime escape from reality.

A quick cozy mystery read

A short story about a murder during the holidays. Gets right to the point and the case is solved before you can have any chance of becoming bored or distracted. Fantastic if you have a bit of time with nothing to do and want to fill in the void. The narration was good.
