Publisher's summary

She was born to love then taught to kill. She has become everything but is no one. Known only as Bullet, she was long ago forced to shed the name her parents gave her. Changed, molded, and trained to kill with sharp-shooting efficiency, she is one of The Collective's most valuable assets. In a cadre of killers, Bullet is death waiting, but her time for vengeance has come. He was loved, and then he lost. He has become a hunter in search of revenge. Everything was taken from Rand the day a bullet ended the lives of his beloved wife and daughter. He has searched for their killer seven long years and may have her in his hands. Rand has suffered, but now the time has come to make The Collective pay or die trying.

Bullet Hits the Mark

Finally a strong female lead. Alpha males, who enhance the storyline instead of dictate it. And a good start to series. You'll find yourself involved with the secondary characters and the desire to hear their story. Romance is not over top. If you enjoy a fast easy listen for the entertainment of an action love story, then I recommend the book. If you are looking for the next best seller, a super great mystery or an erotic feast, this may not do it for you. I just like the fact of strong female leads that don't bend. Gillian Vance is new for me but does a great job.

A 5 Star Listen!!!

I loved the storyline. I love a woman who excels in what she does and Bullet really excels! She is a kickass assassin with a heart buried deep. Great, angsty read with fantastic sex scenes. I really hope the other books in the series come out in audio, using the same narrator. She was excellent!

SPOILER..This book is a little cliffhanger-y.

Any additional comments?

Usually I can get past all the angst a couple is having but it was on almost every page of this book. And the ending kind of stunk. No declaration of love, no happiness of her being asked to stay with him. She just fell to sleep thinking she'd argue with him about that tomorrow. The end!
Also, there's phrase after phrase of French, and another language spoken by Arrow, that does NOT have a translation until the back of the book. WTH? I had a hard time getting past Rand torturing Remi/Bullet after she came to his house, in Virginia, willingly and on her own because he simply told her she better be there.
I liked Ken, Adam and Dmitry.. Joseph Bombardier and Minton were some kind of Crazy. It was disgusting what they did.
A little too much angst for me but some great sexual tension and sex.

As to the narrator: She was okay for me. When a book says the hero's voice is deep and gravely but the reader gives him an almost feminine voice I have a problem with that. Ms. Vance needs to try a little harder to make her men sound like men.
I was amazed when the actual sounds of explosions happened in the background of the reading. Never heard anything like that before.
