Publisher's Summary

Ariel Kimber is a 17-year-old girl who, thanks to her mother, has had a life full of unpleasantness and abuse. And it’s about to get a whole lot worse.

After her mother meets a man online, Ariel is forced to move to a different state, leaving all that she has ever known behind. Any teenager’s nightmare. But Ariel isn’t like most teenagers. She’s different, and she has literally nothing to leave behind. No friends, no nothing. They move next door to a house that remains empty all summer long until the day before the first day of school. A school where the other kids treat Ariel like garbage because of who her mother is and the fact that she’s different from them, save for a few – her neighbors. Tyson, his mysterious uncle, Quinton, and twins, Abel and Addison. They quickly become her only friends, but Ariel soon finds out they are hiding things from her, keeping secrets from her. And she wants answers.

Surprisingly, they give them to her. What do you do when you find out you’re not who you always thought you were and your whole world gets flipped upside down? Ariel Kimber stumbles into a world she didn’t know existed, a world of magic and nothing is as it seems. Thankfully, she has the guys to guide her, to hold her hand along the way, and she is going to need a whole lot of hand-holding.

This is a reverse harem series. There is adult langue and some mature content so be warned of that.

Pathetic

The main character isn't someone you can relate to. She has no fight in her and when she does decide to have some its over something stupid. By the end of the book you know next to nothing about the boys she's supposed to be "friends" with and you don't feel any connection with them or her. Not a slow burn just slow. Not worth your time.

Great beginning

Great beginning for a wonderful series. Book one follows Ariel Kimber, a 17 year old girl with an abusive stripper for a mother and no idea who she is or that she has magic.

My new favorite series

I am addicted to these characters. This is a book that you definitely won’t want to put down! The end shocked me, but didn’t. I know, that doesn’t make sense; but once you read this book, you will. This is a must read. Now I am off to start the next book right now.

P.S. The narrator is great too. The mic has a weird air in the background, but you quickly get used to it. It also doesn’t take away from the listening experience.

sooo slooooow!

could have been decent if the story progressed at a stronger pace. it was a struggle to make it through.

fmc seems weak in a way that annoys me but not enough to throw me off the story. the boys are an interesting twist which may compel me to continue the series.

So. This series is fantastic. I have it in my Kindle. The paperbacks. And now it’s times to get the audibles!! This first book is an excellent introduction to Ariel Kimber and her world. Absolutely love. The narrator is lovely.

I am so excited so many are on audio already!

I have been eyeing up this series for awhile and once I saw more and more were coming on audiobook I decided to take the plunge! And boy was I happy I did so. I am already on Book 3 (sadly almost done and only book 4 to go - I think book 5 is being recorded so hopefully it wont be long until its ready on here.

In terms of the narration, I have seen audiobooks with Melissa as the narrator and have listened to some samples and didnt have a problem with her then and certainly dont have any now. I thought she did a good job with all the various characters. I will be checking out the other RH titles she has done previously because I would definitely listen to her again. My only feedback (constructive) is that she does a fabulous job distinguishing between the female characters, but not really with the male. I think Marcus stands out, as well as Chuck but none of the guys in the harem. No issues like I said, just ways to help improve and get it to 5 stars every time.

For the story, I really liked the premise, I am liking how the story is unfolding and that we have no idea what the end game is. In a lot of RH stories we kinda have an idea what the climax/big battle will be but that’s is not the case here. I like how the relationship building will come first it seems, while Ariel is learning about her powers and this new world she was abruptly shoved into. While listening I was ready to chuck my phone with Vivian’s antics, I couldn’t wait until she got her just rewards. I couldn’t help smiling and giggling with the relationship between Marcus and Ariel. Loved that he was treating her that way and she was surprised but inwardly happy. I will say it was a quick turnaround that he was treating her like a surrogate daughter which seemed a little shady to me, so I was waiting for the other shoe to drop and my theory to be blown to bits haha. I am happy with this first book in this awesome series. I am looking forward to listening to more and probably reading the novellas in between waiting for book 5 to be ready.

100% recommend this book, just be prepared for a slow-burn romance. I am listening to book 3 and not a ton has happened sexually for the guys. So many adorable moments, gonna get back to listening now!

6/5 stars one of my all time favorites

one of my all-time favorite series. I love when PNR is written very realistically there's no other creatures in this world it's all magic. They are witches and Ariel the main character does not know she's which she comes from neglectful and abusive mom who has moved in with a man she met online to a new town. And she needs some strange guys at her school and across the street. But the guys know more about her than she does. She doesn't know she's a witch she's a no magic this but they do and they are making it a point to be in her atmosphere. two lovers or anything like that I mean there is an alpha a hole which I love and he's crazy and a great way but he's not like a jerk I mean he's a jerk but he's not a jerk you know LOL. In the very beginning at school one of the main characters doesn't come off well because there's a past with female witches they are very rare only a few known in existence so usually they pick a coven so some of this coven isn't exactly convinced at first that they necessarily want to deal with a female witch While others are all for it. but no one's like me or anything my point is is that it's not insta forced love and it's not fully denying a few of the coven members really get to know the main character in the main character kind of questioning what's going on with these strange guys and that's the theory progresses you get to know more from each guy they're very distinct very different but they're all very likable. the story is very well-written it's she's a very strong female main character even though she comes from a tough past I think that helps to make her so strong. There's great world-building as it goes there's no big info dumps this book and series does a great job of showing and not telling. it will make you laugh out loud team Uncle panty thief is totally a thing lol I'm very picky when it comes to pnr and this is one of my absolute favorite pnr and favorite series in general it's slow burn the characters are really well written it's something you can like dive into and really get lost in the characters and the world that they're in. it's written in a way that you become very invested in all of the characters and the story. it sticks with you and it's something you'll want to re listen to and re read to get lost in the world with the characters. this is an RH so there are multiple love interests if you haven't ran in RH before I think this is a great introduction to them as well with the build and the reasoning behind it nothing feels Forced. it's perfect for the story. and you will love this coven and this magical world.

Loved it!

A reverse harem, paranormal romance. I loved this book, I've read it many times, and listening to narrator Melissa Schwairy really brought the story to life! I loved the heroine Ariel, despite her horrendous home life, she's got a goal to just finish the school year. However her introduction to the coven isn't smooth, and she has trouble accepting her new reality. Some of the coven isn't welcoming and I wanted to hex them for her! And wow, uncle Quint sounds like quite the character! I can't wait for book 2 to be available on audible!

So good!

Ah! I remember the first time I read this book and I got the same feeling now. It is a story about Ariel and her finding a group of brothers, not by blood but by magic. Female witches are rare and they feel lucky to have found her. Not all guys are in it really from the start. Some are though and they are doing everything that is in their power to make her happy. But there are some issues rising. Can they help Ariel? Melissa does a good job too with the narration so I enjoyed this book yet again and will listen it often.

Amazing!

I loved this book! To start, the narrator did a great job and made the book feel so, so real. I have read alot of RH books, but this is only the second that had more than five men in the harem. I was worried it would be too many, but it wasn't. I love the diversity in the characters, and while we got to know a little bit about a few of them I cant wait to learn even more. I am hoping for a little more steam in the second book because the tension has been building in this one.

I really enjoy Ariel and I am excited to see how she will flourish with her mom no longer in the picture to be an abusive wench.

I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request from audiobooks unleashed, and have voluntarily left this review.

Brilliant Series

I love this series. The depth of character development is brilliant. Uncle Quinton is an over the top alpha male that will do anything for his family, soooo let the games begin!
