Great story and narrators. Love the way Amanda changed when she met Greg and Max and totally turn into a different person.

Great audiobook and narrators. Loved Max’s story and the small town and the way that Amanda totally changed once she met Greg and Max and his family. Totally loved the narrators-they are they made listening fantastic. Highly recommend this audiobook! Can’t wait to read Marc’s story!

So sweet

This was such a sweet story with a wonderful ending. I look forward to the next two books about Max’s brothers.

Love this series

I loved this series when I read it and I am so excited to be listening to It!!! Love this author! Amanda moves back to her home town to take care of her brother. She meets Max and they have instant chemistry but are not really fans of each other. Great read. Love Amanda's brother also!! Great series.

Oil and water combined

Amanda has inherited her half brother. Greg is a sweet, challenged young man that Amanda has been put in charge of. She left her fun, carefree life in Miami to become the caregiver to a man she has never met. Her first day in town she goes shopping. Enter Max, good looking and a cop giving Amanda a ticket. These two are like oil and water and it is so much fun to watch their interactions.

I enjoyed the interactions between Amanda and MaryAnne and how easily they got along. The grocery store adventure was comical. I'm still not sure what she needs 10 jars of peanut butter for. MaryAnne teaches her to cook, I think. I'm still not sure any of the cooking lessons were successful.

I'm looking forward to more family dinners with these two and Greg, as well as Max's family. Now I can't wait to see what woman can tame Mark. And Matt has secrets, so who will be able to handle this one?

This was my first Ava Lucas book and I love her. She brought out all of Amanda's emotions. Her I won't take any crud from you attitude to her deep concern when Greg goes missing to her need for her mother to accept her for who she is. Jason Clarke is stellar as always. He has the stern cop who disapproves of Amanda's capabilities and her closeness with his mother down pat. But then he meets Amanda's mother and his disapproval and attitude grow ten-fold, as well as his concern for Amanda and her feelings.

Max and Amanda

This was a great one. I loved Amanda and her brother Greg made the book. Greg was one hot cop. I loved how they went from not really liking each other to love. Her mom was not a nice person but they found a way and all was well in the end. Jason Clarke and Ava Lucas did outstanding! Highly recommend this one

Max is a sexy, bossy police officer in Manning Grove. Amanda is a self-centered, stubborn woman from Miami. Amanda is in Manning Grove to take care of her half brother. When Max and Amanda meet they instantly dislike each other yet there is definitely an attraction. Max and Amanda's attraction turns into a hot, intense relationship. Jeanne St. James has created another world to fall in love with, that includes an alpha male, a strong female, and riveting secondary characters. Jason Clarke and Ava Lucas bring Max and Amanda to life with their seductive and captivating narration.

Delicious!

The characters in this story are extremely stubborn and sometimes frustrating; however, they evolve over time in a way that is natural to the story. Very hardheaded, and they don't lose that as they come together (pun intended). Amanda really steps up with her brother, who is a great character! Max is stubborn, arrogant, sexy, and quite wonderful! Max's family is I really enjoyed the two of them together as they mature and come to terms with their feelings. This book has some seriously sexy scenes. Chapter 10 was toe curling!! I listened on Audible, and performances were exactly what I expect from these top-notch narrators who are high on my #faveylist for good reason. Ava is wonderful and Jason Clarke is AMAZING, as always! 🐉🔥

Great story, great narration

I love small town stories, throw in a totally hot and alpha cop and I am in heaven. Having read/listened to several books from Jeanne St James I was excited to dive in to what for me is a new series.

I was not disappointed. The narration from Ava Lucas and Jason Clark was spot on for these characters. I really loved the premise of this story. Spoilt rich girl Amanda Barber arrives in the small town of Manning Grove to take responsibility for her younger half brother who has special needs. Initially I wasn't sure I was going to like Amanda or Mandy as her brother Greg calls her but thankfully I came around very quickly.

I loved the relationship that not only Amanda but Max had with Greg, it was truly heart warming. The chemistry between Max and Amanda was intense and it was amusing to listen to the love/hate relationship as it built.

I am looking forward to reading/listening to the other brothers stories.

Kept me entertained, but. . .

I’m giving this story the stars because I felt like the writing was decent and the story kept me in it. I have to admit, though, that I get annoyed with the spoiled, whiny heroines who need a strong man to structure their lives. It seems Amanda waffled between woe-is-me-help-me to “I can do it myself” toddler behavior. The sex scenes were hot, but I guess the author assumes safe sex/birth control are not sexy topics. I kind of felt that supported the irresponsibleness of the heroine. However, I’m an older, mature, independent woman. Take my review with that in mind. You want sexy, fairly low-angst entertainment, I think you should go for it. I got this series on sale, so I’m interested enough to move on to the next story.

The narrators were as good as one can get with trying to achieve both male and female voices. Mr. Clarke could be a bit livelier, but I’m happy to hear them in the next book.
