This was my first book by this author and I fell in love with her writing and her characters! Sugar and Z are so lovable and as an Alabama girl myself I thought Savannah nailed the Southern accent. Great story, great angsts with all the feels! I listened to it twice in a row. Super sexy! Great love story and sports romance with excellent performances. Don’t miss this one.

Drama over bullshit

Childish and boring. Make narrator is so dramatic it’s almost funny. If you are over 15 years old don’t wast your credit

different kinda hero

I enjoyed the story of Zack and Sugar. It's refreshing to see a hero like Zack, as he is not your typical "Alpha" type. I feel like the two really progressed and there was good character development. Savannah is a new to me narrator and I am a fan of Stephen, so this was an enjoyable listen.

Back story didn’t come full circle

There is a back story about her father that really didn’t fit the story line. Other than that it was a entertaining listen.

Sooooo good

This is the book!!!! I laughed, cried, and got HOT. I loved being a part of their forever story. A very different insight into hockey leaving me breathless for more.

SO! 👏 DAMN! 👏 GOOD!! 👏 OMG I loved everything! The characters, sass and snarky comebacks, relationship developments, and the hotter than hell 🌶🌶🌶🌶 I wish I had in college 😑 So much jealousy of fictional characters here 😭

Meh… Which is sad because I love the author

First I love this author. Her Jock and smart girl series is great! This book was terrible! The male character was so whiny… their story was just boring. Against my better judgment I bought the second book because I really liked Eric’s character.

Couldn't stand the female lead

It was a good story. I liked the writing and the narrators but good Lord I hated Sugar. For me, there was nothing about her that was enduring. She tried to act like the betrayed, insecure girl but all she talked about was how perky her tits were. I love this author but this book wasn't for me.

Fantastic listening experience!

I only listen to books I've already read and this book was a Top Read 2019 for me. I thought it was a stunningly good read!! My heart is full. Just fabulous!

Zack AKA Z Morgan is on the cusp of NHL stardom. He's in his final year of college and he wants to leave on a high. He's fed up with the party scene but, as captain of the hockey team, he likes to keep up appearances. And, appearance is important since he's hiding a big secret from everyone except his family and his best friend.

I loved this book SO HARD!! I thought it was going to be a fun, light read but it was actually quite angsty and emotional.

Zack's reputation precedes him but a lot of it is just rumour. I loved the real guy underneath his public persona. He's full of guilt and pain from the past. His connection with Sugar is compelling and I loved how he could let his walls down and be real with her. Sugar is a tough cookie. She's got real backbone and I admired her courage. And, goodness, the chemistry between them is absolutely scorching! The author really knows how to write those steamy scenes! *fans self*

This novel was just gorgeous. It was about passion, guilt, forgiveness and falling into forever love. I was completely riveted by it.

I thought that Stephen Dexter and Savannah Peachwood brought the book to life. Dexter is an amazing voice actor and he portrayed Zack's emotions perfectly. Fabulous!

Writing great /male narrator unpleasantly dramatic

Love the excellent writing. Drama somewhat contrived, but enjoyed the story. Loved the characters - main and supporting. Looking forward to more of the series.


Listened on audiobook:

Way too slow - sounds sluggish and bad at 1x speed. Listened at more like 2x speed. Don’t understand why books are released with such a slow recording speed - maybe to look like an 11 hour book when it should be way less?

Male narrator has a nice voice, but overdoes it with the emotion - cringed at this. Also didn’t like his uhh/umm… sounds - distracting. His narration was not enjoyable. (2 stars)

Female narrator did a great job. (4 stars)
