Publisher's summary

It’s one of the most shocking unsolved missing-child cases in the world. Where is Kyron Horman? Why hasn’t the woman who police suspect is responsible for his 2010 disappearance - Kyron’s stepmother - been charged? That the seven-year-old disappeared from his grade school got the attention of parents around the world. The twists of the case - adultery, sexting, murder-for-hire - keep the story in the media spotlight. New York Times best-selling author Rebecca Morris tells the minute-by-minute, day-by-day story of the long investigation, the search for Kyron, and his family’s heartache. Based on years of research and interviews with Kyron's family, Boy Missing also examines what recourse families have as they wait for a loved one to be found and challenges a common assumption in no-body cases: that prosecutors must wait until there is a confession or remains are found. No-body cases can be prosecuted successfully.

Author Jeff Guinn (Manson, The Road to Jonestown) calls Boy Missing “an important book and one readers will never forget”.

Excellent listen

A very compelling and comprehensive look at a heartbreaking case. Narrator did an excellent job, especially with Dr Phil!

Tough subject well done

What a frustrating story. No answers after 10 long years.
I can understand why no arrests have been made because of the Double Jeopardy rule but I can't imagine what this child's parents have gone through. It seems obvious what happened but I have a feeling this case will go unsolved. Being a Mom and now a Nana this story gave me chills.
The author also touches on several other cases of abductions which added interest and comparison to this case.

Narrator did an excellent job with difficult subject matter. I've listened to her before and she has a very good way of telling a story.
Very compelling and I couldn't stop listening once I started.

Thank you to the the publisher/author/narrator who gave me a copy in exchange for an honest review. The opinions are mine alone.

Excellent Overview of a Tragic Case

First off, I'm required by law to state that I received a free copy of this audio book in exchange for my unbiased review.

This is the 2nd book I've read by this author and read by this narrator and I would read/listen to their work again. It's frustrating to have no closure, but the author does a really good job of covering the facts of the case and shedding light on the Kyron Horman disappearance and the field of no body cases. I would recommend!

Listened twice to make sure I didn't miss anything

I am an Oregon resident and have heard about missing child over the years, being a mother myself I couldn't imagine not knowing where my child was for years on end. God bless you, and your strength.

An unsolved case

I wonder what made this case more newsworthy than other missing child cases. Morris has thoroughly researched and described this case. The book is well written and Lee Ann Howlett's narration is excellent. Officially this case is unsolved, but there's enough information here to draw some pretty definitive conclusions.

Informative, sad, excessive

The book starts out good, grabs your attention. After the first few chapters, it drags and drags. There are numerous chapters that could’ve been left out. The subject matter is unbelievably sad. I received a review copy at my request and voluntarily reviewed.

Makes me want to hit the trails and continue the search.

I have been following this case from the first day as a resident of the PNW. Kyron has a way of tugging right at the heart strings and this book really tells the whole story better than anything I have seen
so far. We need to bring him home!

Heartbreaking

I'm a local from where Kyron disappeared. I saw all the signs posted around town, the amber alerts and drove by his wall of hope almost daily. When I was given the chance to listen to this audiobook, I jumped at the opportunity. At first I was turned off right away by the narrator but I was quickly sucked in to the story so I saw past the horrible narration.

There's something about listening to local true crime that makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on end. I'm able to picture the local places and roads in my head as I'm listening to the story. I was already familiar with Kyron's case but it was great to hear all the details and backstories. I only hope that after 10 years this book can shed some new light on details maybe missed or overlooked by authorities.

Very well written with lots of details (some details seemed pointless- like they were included to add some fluff to the book) I also liked the PDF of the book that was included. It contained pictures and maps which I found helpful.

Great pacing and good research

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I am a true crime fan! I love how much research went into this book by the author, The narrator was really good as well. Her pacing was fantastic and no stumbles at all. She has a very calm voice and relaxing. I like to listen to audiobooks while I am working and I always find that some books are a bit hard to listen to. Not in this case: I listened to this over a period of 2 work days. I was able to absorb what was being said and at the same time, it did not interfere with my work.

The story is about poor Kyron Horman. He still has not been found to this day. In the listening of this audiobook, you learn who Kyron is and you become invested in the search for Kyron. At times, there are a lot of people to keep track of but that is ok. I really wish there was a good ending to Kyron's story or at least a conclusion. I feel it would be good for all involved to have closure.

Overall: the book was well researched and put together. The narrator was great and I will be looking for more books read by her!

Unsolved mystery

I received a free copy of this audio book at my request and voluntarily leave this honest review..
A true unsolved mystery of a seven year old boy who disappeared from school.
A well written and detailed book , concerning the search and suspects involved.
As usual Lee Ann Howlett narrates with warmth and compassion.
