Passion with a Message

What made the experience of listening to Boundaries for Leaders the most enjoyable?

Having the author narrate the book himself. His passion and high energy while delivering actionable content kept me engaged. This book is well worth listening too.

OUTSTANDING!

I have many business books but not many fall into the category of outstanding. Truly a prescription for a successful leader. I lead leaders and will most definitely use this in my work. I have quoted extensively - my favorite part is when people get into a negativity spin they exhibit this with 3 "P's" over time; first they take it personal; then it becomes pervasive; and finally it becomes permanent. This helped me see a struggle with one of my leaders in a very clear way.
I purchased this in hardcover so as to have it as a reference and have recommended it to many already.
I see there is a workbook and also other titles by Dr. Cloud - I am sure I will be investigating these too.

Slow read

The book covers basic concepts for leading a team or company. It's not particularly interesting nor does it get to the point. I didn't even know why it was titled "Boundaries for Leaders" until a few chapters in. It's about setting boundaries for the teams. The main point is the culture within the team exists through what the leader had created or allowed. If there is a team member who is pessimistic and is bringing everyone else down, the leader is allowing that behavior to become prevalent. The leader needs to meet with the team regularly, focus on factors that are controllable, encourage the desired behaviors, have team members share success stories arose from the desired behaviors, and build a culture of trust and optimism.

Good book on leadership

chapter 10 is worth the money alone but the whole book is pretty good. it can get pretty detailed now and then but overall a good book for leaders.

Cloud never disapoints !

Where does Boundaries for Leaders rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

If you've read other Boundaries books, you'll hear some similar information in this book but there is definitely some new stuff. I enjoyed it and got some great notes out of it.

Perfect book for leaders

This is the best leadership book I have ever read. It is thorough in its entirety. I am excited to start exercising these principles in my leadership immediately. I will definitely be reading/listening to more books from Dr. Henry Cloud

Dr Cloud is THE voice for boundaries

Dr Cloud adapts and presents the “boundaries” from his original book to practical application for business leaders. All businesses have challenges - partners, employees, customers, vendors - and Dr Cloud can help leaders to come to decisions that are right for the business when the leader may be oblivious to where the problem originated or is simply too soft-hearted. Excellent work!

Must read for any leader in business

What made the experience of listening to Boundaries for Leaders the most enjoyable?

It was narrated by the author so the passion came through, this doesn't always come through with audible business books.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The author! Great passion and a very good orator.

Yes and even though it was a long listen I managed it.
