Publisher's summary

Promised to a strange prince
Forced toward an arranged marriage, the chosen braenese has a new enemy, and he's not at all like the boy who washed ashore in Elowa. This one hates her before she even sets foot upon his sand.

Bound for a strange land
To survive, Zaria must learn the ways of this new world and fight alongside it's people. She’ll need to gather as many assets as she can to help her escape back to Kirwyn. Did he find his boat that fateful night...or did he meet his doom at the bottom of the ocean?

Eluding two powerful brothers
If navigating court politics isn’t tricky enough, outmaneuvering the prince determined to dispose of her, as well as the one set upon marrying her, proves downright deadly. To her surprise, it’s not her betrothed that poses the biggest threat -- it’s his cruel and overprotective brother.

One boy to marry, one boy to battle, and one to steal her back...
...she hopes.

Bound by Dark Waters is book 2 in the Beyond the God Sea Trilogy.

Please be advised: This is dark/mature YA. While there is little to no explicit content, the themes and challenges within this story are more appropriate for older teen listeners. As Zaria straddles the line between young adult and new adult, so do her experiences. Mild swearing, consumption of alcohol, and issues surrounding the topics of sex, violence, abuse, and trauma are present.

Love this story

I adore this series, intensity, and dynamic characters so much. Jules was amazing. Adored him and felt so bad for him. Zaria continues to grow stronger and smarter. Laz is an amazing dark horse character I can't wait to see shine.

I’m in deep

I love the choices in this book. You are always confused on how or who to root for making it realistic and angsty without feeling juvenile. I appreciate the maturing books because it keeps my adult mind interested and gives payoff without feeling cheap. I look forward to more world building. As characters grow the world and impact expands. Very smart. I hope more people read this!!

Love It!

I found this on the Authors Tik Tok page that was randomly advertised to me through social media. I LOVE IT. I was hesitant.. but what a great twist on a classic story. Would definitely recommend.

Interesting story that continues to build

Book 2 of this series shifts a little more into the upper YA territory, with the story getting a little darker and grittier, and the stakes getting higher and higher for Zaria. With all the pretense of her situation gone, she now finds herself betrothed, in a strange land, a definite fish out of water situation, and wanting only to find her way back to Kierwyn. And while she is still figuring things out, and doesn’t always react or make the most ideal choices, she’s not entirely without cunning. While she bides her time and tries to figure out who could be her allies in her quest for freedom, she forges and unexpected, and somewhat reluctant friendship with her betrothed, the young king, while at the same time, drawing the instant ire and hatred of his twin brother. Her navigation of the path to becoming the future queen, while trying to figure out how to avoid that path, is an interesting journey in this book. Alliances are made and lost, and Zaria continues to grow and evolve as she learns more and more about this world that she never even knew existed. By the time we reach the end of this second book of the trilogy, the chess pieces are set in what is sure to be an intriguing and much darker journey through book 3, and I can’t wait.

The narration suits Zaria well. As she continues to grow, you can hear it in her voice. It’s a great choice for this character, and I think it adds nicely to the overall story adding depth and emotion.

Couldn't stop listening

I love this story and world so much. The first book was good, this book was amazing. Zaria is brave and bold and I love everything about this. I love the dynamic between Laz and Julz and I can't wait to see what unfolds when they throw in Kierwin. The narrator was refreshing from the first book because she sounds a little more mature and it makes it easier to hear her maturing throughout the book. *I received a free audio book in exchange for an honest review.
