Publisher's Summary

Shawn Black seems to be a mild-mannered family man who loves music recitals, football games, and family outings. What observers don’t realize is that Shawn is living a life on both sides of the fence. He harbors dangerous secrets that could hurt his family.

Shawn makes a mistake when he befriends James, a gold-digger with an agenda. Pushing Shawn head first into a life of lust and deception, he will get what he wants.

Everyone has secrets in this story. Explosive sex mixed with secrecy and painful truth can only produce disaster. Shawn’s faithfulness, love, sexuality, and family structure will be tested to the very end. Be warned: this is not your average down-low book.

couldn't finish

I was unable to finish this since there was a vivid description of child abuse. A warning to that would have been greatly appreciated in the summary. the rest of the story I listened to was decent though difficult to follow who's perspective it was from.

Very Disappointing & Confusing.

Very depressing story line.
Hard to follow with a Man doing Women's Voices.
Also confusing with Narrator always referring to ME or MY without identifying WHO he is supposed to be.

Horrible reader.

Please do not waste your time with this. The person reading the story sounds like he reads on maybe a 3rd or 4th-grade level ( if that). There are many places that you can tell voiceovers or stop and go of the recording was being done. The character voices were the worst I've ever heard in an audiobook. The story was this and had lots of twists but since you couldn't tell who was speaking it got very convoluted. As the men on audiobooks from that Old show In living color would say: Hated it!!!!

Wtf???

When I say wtf I mean wtf!!! This story was just bad the narration was bad. The narrators seemed to loose his place while reading several times. Maybe that’s because the story was all go. Characters did dumb things and had no pretext as to why one might do that I was really tryin but when I hit chapter 25 I was done. Just wah?? Bye no I can’t. Some of the sex was good but over all nah

Gooooodddd

Messy af!! But a really good book. Literally not one dull moment. Kept me intrigued the entire time. The narrator was cool even tho he paused a lot. Still did good enough to get the feeling of the characters. I didn’t like the fact he never changed his voice for the women characters.

Horrible Narration.

The book at a lot of twists and turns, especially in the last half that were definitely a surprise and made it interesting. The narration was so incredibly bad, including the mispronunciation of an enormous number of words I couldn’t possibly listen to the other books in the series. They were no different voices for different people the entire thing in addition to being read Monejon he would stop in the middle of sentences were there was no reason to do so, and even in the middle of words absolutely horrible.

Khalid Hill

To sum it up, Not a very good narrator at all…He mispronounce words and there’s no emotion in his narration. But outside that, the book is good as hell!!! M.H. Pope needs to write more books…

I was hooked!

Drama! Drama! And more Drama from the beginning to the damn end. I was hooked. This story line was very good. I read it in two days. I was hooked like I was in a soap opera. Although I wish the voices could have been different to distinguish who is who, it was over a very good read.
