Unexpected ending to a plan for revenge
I won a copy of this book during a giveaway contest..
I really enjoyed this story! The overall storyline was great. The backstories on the 2 main characters really worked well with the story. I felt their struggles as their past met their present
Nora - my heart broke for her as she dealt with 2 tragic incidents in her young life. They made her stronger in some areas, but tormented her in lots of other ways. She grew throughout the book as she tried to overcome and fight her battles with her past.
Lance - he had a tragic incident that he was also trying to overcome while trying to do his job. The loyalty characteristic is very strong with this character - loyalty to the past, his friends, his job.
The narrators did a great job giving these characters life.
This was the first book I read (listened to) by this author. I can't wait to read more.

Couldn’t get past the ludicrous plot
Good grief. She’s a coffee barista who has never even held a gun and she goes undercover in a crime group to find her brother’s killer. The number of TSTL moves she makes is eclipsed only by the number of time he has to step in and save her. For his part, he’s an undercover cop who follows zero police tactics. Both of them have over the top angsty backstories about losing loved ones, growing up in foster care, etc. I might have liked this if it was meant to be parody. Even being generous with credibility for the romance genre, I just couldn’t get past all the nonsense.
