Yes. The book was better than I expected.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Fain. I've loved his character since I started reading the series. This is my favorite so far.

Have you listened to any of Fred Berman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've listen to a few and he is very good. His female voices could sound more feminine but he's still really good. Doesn't take away from the book

I love the series. They are a good series to pick up. They give a lot of action, laughs, and you even get your romance.

The battle against The League continues as the Sentella and the Tavali Pirates join the Andarian Armada and its allies to rein in Kyr Zemmin and his League of Assassins.

This is the long-awaited story of Fain Hauk. Star crossed lovers Fain and Galene have waited a lifetime to be together and they are reunited as allies battling The League.

The best parts of the book are the insights to what became of Jullien after Nykyrian threw him over a table in a crowded restaurant 5 years earlier in Born Of Night.

Personally, I usually read/listen to Born Of Legend before Born of Betrayal, up to the point where Jullien goes to rescue Kiara, then stop and read BOB, then finish with BOL. Born of Defiance picks up the tale from Bastien Cabarro’s pov.

We also get more insight to the Trisani brothers, Nero and Hadrian and what happened to their siblings when Triosa fell.

Plenty of plot twists ensue.

If you grew up a Star Wars fan, the League books are so much better! It’s like the Star Wars Game of Thrones edition. I’ve read/listened to this series probably a dozen times, if not more.

The author needs to finish several of the other instalments so that the series can continue: Ryn Dane. Nero Scalera. Trajen Thaumartagus. Jupiter Hinto. Chayden Aniwaya. They all need their stories told. I’ve been waiting on Chayden’s story since Book 3 where Cailen Dagan slept with Chay’s fiancé. Sheesh. 🙄

Long live the League!

We finally get a chance to hear Nykirian say it's not about him, but about Nemisis Rising. That scene was so cool. Also there were massive amounts of characters in this book, but done In a way that is not overwhelming if you are league fan. If this is your first league book, the amount of people may be a bit much because the ingrained "feels" won't be there. I absolutely adore the Hauk and Winged Batur family. And after you listen/read this book, you will know why the next book has to be Ushara's book. The League does not shirk their duties even when it seems an impossible reason and task.

Fun story

This next story in The League series has some really good twists and turns. Even though some of those are obvious as to what’s going to happen next, the book kept me on the edge of my seat waiting for some funny events to occur. This book had me laughing so much at times, feeling heart-wrenched at other times, and having that feel good sense a the friendships and found family that is central to the whole series. I highly recommend this book!
