From USA Today bestselling author Layla Frost comes the final book in this twisty urban fantasy romance series about fated mates, evil soul-stealers, and love so beautiful, it must be magicks.

The battle was fought. And the battle was lost.

Waking up in the middle of nowhere, my connection to my siblings was gone. Jaggedly severed like a stolen soul.

I searched for centuries. Living under countless names. In countless places. Never getting close to anyone. Never staying long enough for anyone to notice I didn't age.

I gave up on finding them. I gave up on finding the other half of my soul. I gave up… period.

Until the day I felt Aurora. My one.

I didn't know how the golden-haired beauty ended up in the woods near my cabin. What she'd been through. Why a hollow pain—the kind that could take a grown man to his damned knees—filled her. Or why finding out she was my soulmate made her burst into tears.

I would gladly let the world burn to give her happiness, but letting her go was never an option. It had nothing to do with fate and everything to do with her being mine.

It was no coincidence that I found Aurora and my siblings at the same time. Evil lurked closer. Bigger and badder than we ever expected. Heaven, Hell, and everything in between were in danger.

I felt it in my bones.

This completed steamy romantasy series is made to be enjoyed in order. If you try to jump in at book four, you'll be as lost as Juno in a corn maze after a handful of her special gummy bears. Start back at Styx and enjoy the magicks from the beginning.

I loved all of the stories in this series! I combined the reading and the audible, reading when I couldn’t listen! The narrators did a fantastic job with all the characters! Even though this was a paranormal story it had a lot of relatable issues and really touched my heart! Especially the 3rd one! The spicy was spicy and each book had individual style to it! Don’t worry about losing interest, each book kept me entertained and wanting more! I’m sad it ended but also happy because the HEA was PERFECT!! Don’t hesitate, go ahead and get the books, it’s very worth it!!

Fantastic Series!

While I was somewhat unimpressed with how long it took to "figure it out" the ending to me was a little bit bland. Someone else mentioned in another review that it was "bang zoom TADA" ending and I thought they were exaggerating and they 100% were not. Literally the last hour they rush through the end of the series. Four books and it all wrapped up in an hour. While overall it was a pretty good story, I feel a bit let down.

The conclusion

It took me four books to realize the thing that irked me about the FMCs: they succeed by pluck and luck, and not by smarts. I don’t need book smarts; street smarts would’ve worked too. Sadly, this book’s FMC, Aurora, was the meekest, scrawniest, most gaslit damsel of the bunch. How long did she let a man use and abuse her? Ugh. Too long.

The narration struggled in the second half, when all four couples finally (finally!) get together with a plan (kind of) to take on Absolve. If my life depended on it I still wouldn’t be able to identify which MC was speaking based upon the voicing.

The romance trope wore out its welcome too: that’s four possessive MMCs who get super duper jealous and threaten sexual punishment when their FMCs let their bratty mouths loose.

Finally, I get this is romance, but a little effort on the magical mystery end would’ve been nice too. I stuck it out through four books only to have the Big Bad revealed in the last hour, vanquished lickity split, and then have his evil plan info-dumped before rushing to a puppies and babies group epilogue.

Was there an entire brain among them?
