Great Read

Blue Blood for Life (My Blood Runs Blue #3) was a great read by Stacy Eaton. Kristin took a month off work and seems happier than she's been in a long time. She now seems to solve crimes faster and better than ever before. Alex goes missing and Kristin has to tell her friends about her secrets. Julian and Gabe try to locate Alex with Kristin. Trent winds up in Fawn Hollow and he may be the only person who can do what Alex asked. Kristin finds herself drawn to Trent. They uncover a connection between her job and Alex's disappearance. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more by Stacy Eaton.

New adventure for Officer Kristin Greene

I really enjoyed Blue Blood for Life. It was fast paced and well-written, showing the story from each character's point of view. It picks up fairly quickly after the last book left off, though Alex and Kristin were now having trouble with their relationship. Their struggles between work and family life were pretty relatable. I really liked her with Julian more so than Alex, so having a new love interest being introduced seemed a little weird in the beginning, but ultimately made for a great story and mating. I can't wait to see where the story goes from here.

I received an advanced reader copy of this audiobook and voluntarily provided this review.

Ready for something more step up for the ride

Kristin is back. This time around we get more and so does her friends. She reveal much to them and others see a new side of her they were not expecting. Julian, Trent and Alex are coming along for the ride. The world get richer and a little deeper. We find out things that only make us want to find out more about them all.

Another installment in the My Blood Runs Blue series and Stacy Eaton gives more new details and more to experience. While Alex Black continues to bring to life the voices of each character with clarity. I have enjoyed all of Alex narrations. This one was no different. Thank you for the vivid imagery created by his voice and Stacy's words.

Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Easy-to-read Entertaining Great world building Wonderful characters

A new beginning...

The 3rd audiobook starts with Kristin going after a burglar when she feels a strong pull from Alexander. She’s been taking extra shifts, working more and trying to ignore them. After mating and bonding in the 2nd audiobook things don’t go so well between the two. Alexander wants to complete the mating phase, meaning they need to have a child together, but Kristin is not pleased about that thought. She’s still young, and has a long career ahead of her, and having kids is really NOT on her mind at this moment.

The pull she feels from Alexander is stronger and weird, thinking he wants once again to talk about kids, she ignores him and gets angry on him, but what she doesn’t know is that Alexander is in deep trouble, trouble that will put his life in danger and make things turn for the worst. Alex knows very well what is about to happen, and he leaves notes behind for Julian and Kristin to find.

The notes left behind by Alex suggest that either Alex or Trent (who we meet eventually during a very strange event) needs to break the bond between Alex and Kristin. Trent is arrogant, cocky and so much younger than Kristin. Both Trent and Julian knowing very well through what Alex might be going, decide to follow his instructions and try to break their bond. Them together come up with a plan to break the bond. While Kristin, Trent and her human friends go out to a barbecue so she can take her mind off, during this event Trent is drugging Kristin and tells her friends she felt asleep and needs to take her home. Home, Trent is supposed to break their bond – breaking the bond means he needs to feed from her, and she needs to feed from him, but things don’t go as planned.

While she’s half asleep, half awake he tries to feed from her when he hears her calling his name. On that moment he goes crazy, he can’t keep his hands away from her and they start making out, while she’s half asleep/half awake then they end up mating, and instead of him breaking the bond he ends up mated with her. This is where things got uncomfortable for me and very weird, Trent practically had intercourse with Kristin while she was asleep/drugged, basically this felt like a rape scene – even tho her actions showed she wanted that, she wasn’t even awake or fully conscious of what’s happening, and instead of being furious in the morning she was just shocked of what happened and how did that happen. And still – after this incident she was attracted to Trent and started to fantasize about them together and having kids and wearing his name – that kind of shocked me and I was like what actually happened?

The 3rd book does have amazing parts that keep you on your toes, I found it very interesting when came to her work. How she’s assisting with many things, not just to catch a burglar but doing CPR how she’s giving the parents the bad news about their kids dying. Her life behind all of this drama as a policewoman is amazing – really nice seeing that, it makes you feel you’re on a Police Show without seeing it but listening to it.

However, on the same time the audiobook has so many things that don’t quite make sense for me. I thought the bond between the 2 vampires should’ve be stronger and not so easily broken as we see throughout the story. Another thing that I didn’t like on the first book that keeps repeating is that, the story progresses from one side of a pov, then we’re being pulled back to someone else’s pov and we get the same events but said from someone else’s side until we’re back in the present – this felt annoying to be honest and made me confused and I really wanted to just move forward.

The book is also a reverse harem since Alex, Julian and Trent are all about Kristin which I guess is not my preferred type of genre, It makes the audiobook feel a little bit too forced – everyone falling for her like she’s honey, instead of things taking slow and developing along the way. I do understand they’re vampire and their feelings are so heightened and their senses are different than humans but I wished the book would’ve focus more on the Alex’s issue and how they try to help him than Kristin and Trent basically cheating. It is an adult book for mature audiences but some scenes just felt out of place.

Amazing Series!

This is the third book in the My Blood Runs Blue Series, an amazing paranormal vampire romance. I love this Series! The story continues where the last book left off. Kristin, Alex, Julian, Gabe, and Trent are wonderful characters. The storyline is suspenseful and action packed, filled with unpredictable twists and turns. Alex Black did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed it! Looking forward to listen to the next installment, Mixing the Blue Blood, Olivia and Gabriel's story.

Shocker!

I’ll try to write this without spoilers, tho, I’m not sure I can! I’m happy to see the romance part of the story go in a different direction......BUT, I’m still deciding if I like that direction! I’m still sad for my favorite character! Still, with the way things go in this story, that could all change in the next book.....which I’ve already downloaded!! So, if you can’t tell, I love this series! I DO NOT love the narration. I hoped it would get better with each book but , not to be harsh, I think it’s gotten worse due to the additional characters. The male voices are very difficult to tell apart and the fourth male voice is just awful. None of the female voices are good....but that’s just my opinion. Other reviewers seem to be okay with the narration so maybe I’m just too picky. Still, I think it would be fabulous to have a female narrator for the MC since she is female! Off to listen to the next one!
