Publisher's Summary

It's all fun and games until somebody falls in love....

Jase Dvornakov has always loved women, '80s hair band music, and things that go boom. He used to disarm bombs in the Navy, but he's back in Denver after a mission overseas went sideways and destroyed his future, including his marriage. Now he arranges flowers in his family's floral business because flowers don't explode.

Cookie-baker extraordinaire, Heather Reese, has had one too many rounds of heartache, so she's sworn off men and prefers to spend her evenings binge-watching game shows. Plus her no-men rule gives her time to focus on her dream come true - Heather's Cookie Co. - her very own bake shop with an underground following for naughty shaped treats. She refuses to be interested in the hot-shot florist across the street. He is trouble with a capital T. Sexy trouble, but still, a hook-up with Jase is a hard nope.

Desperate to avoid his family's incessant matchmaking, a fake breakup with the beautiful Heather is just what the florist ordered. If his family believes Heather decimated his heart, they'll leave him alone. Heather isn't so keen on the idea, but Jase is determined to make it worth her while. When a pretend breakup becomes the real romance neither was expecting, together they'll have to decide if it's finally time to light the fuse on love....

Ohhh-Em-Geeeeee

I loved getting to know Jase's family in this book. I knew from listening to the others that his grandmother was a hoot! She was! It's been a long time since I laughed so hard from someone's antics! The romance was super sweet... full of heat and some issues. Enjoyed the heck outta this! The narration continued to be fantastic. These two work well together.

The sound of the narrator's dry mouth!

Love the story but somebody get the narrator a glass of water. In every nanosecond of silence all I can hear is that horrible sound. It is worse than listening to someone chew with their mouth open.

So much fun!!!

I loved this one as much as I loved Going Down on One Knee. This series is so much fun! And Jase, who was the fun best friend who happens to be an amazing florist in the last one, is the uber hot leading man here. You can’t help but love him, and laugh at his family, more specifically his Babushka, and the antics she causes. And Heather is just along for the ride, wrapping herself around his (and Babushkas) heart. And once again, Neva & Lance are the perfect team 😍

Did not finish

Enjoyed the first in this series, but just could not get into this one. Listed for a few hours, but did not feel the connection between them at all. I tried, but it just does not keep my interest enough to invest anymore time. Didn’t love the way the female narrator played the part.

Brilliant Story & Narration🎧 It will Blow You Away

Christina Hovland delivers another wonderful book in her “Mile High Matched” series. I loved this one as much as I loved the first. The storylines and characters are amazing and realistic, they are ones you can relate to. Heather Reese is the owner of Heather’s Cookie & Co. Bakery, she also volunteers at the senior center and is helping run an event there, a Senior Senior Prom. Jace Dvornakov served in the Navy, he and his team disarmed bombs but when a mission goes bad he returns home to his family a shell of his former self. His tight knit family looked out for him and put him to work running one of the family florists which neighbors Heather’s cookie shop. Heather and Jase also have mutual friends together. Heather is out visiting the local businesses with with Flyers about the prom and looking for more volunteers and donations. I knew I was going to fall in love with the book from the start when Heather sees a shirtless Jace shirtless rocking out while working on flower arrangements. The great banter that comes after he asks her to go out with him and Heather declines then creating a fictitious tale detailing how the relationship is going to go and then end. Jase’s grandmother Babushka is hysterical and often steals the show with her over the top antics and the witty dialogue that comes out of her mouth. She hounds Jase to get married and give her grand babies and is constantly trying to fix him up. To stop her he tells her a white lie about having his heartbroken, which sends her into a tailspin. OMG, Christina Hovland has a brilliant mind she created the most humorous scenes and her descriptive writing had me picturing them in my head. In addition to the great humor there are so many other great moments, dramatic ones, heartfelt ones and romantic ones. I highly recommend this book, it is entertaining and enjoyable, it is the type of book that once you start you do not want to put it down. Thank you for another wonderful book, all the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride. Also, love how you portrayed and captured Jase’s family dynamics, I bet there are a lot of people who could relate to them either by personal experience or knows someone who has their very won Babushka. capturing their I am looking forward to the next book in this awesome series.

Neva Navarre and Lance Greenfield are talented narrators and voice artists. They bring the characters to life giving them their voice and personality. You can hear how much heart they put into their work as they project the characters emotions and the drama of the story into their performance. They do an amazing job with the dialogue and banter as well as capturing and landing the humor. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen🎧

Sweet with Heat Rom-com

Blow Me Away is the second book in Christina Hovland’s Mile High Matched series of standalone romantic comedies.

What can I say? Ms. Hovland had me at naval bomb disposal technician turned florist. Jase is no stranger to stress, but his family’s expectations and meddling might lead him to do something crazy—like fake a broken heart to get a few weeks reprieve from their matchmaking efforts. When Jase’s 90-year babushka takes revenge on the "ex-girlfriend", Heather gets her first introduction to the sexy florist’s crazy family. Heather and Jase are lovably flawed characters. However, their relationship and personal baggage are more like steam trunks! Their respective pasts keep getting in the way living life to the fullest, and that was an interesting twist on the usual one-sided relationship history. I appreciated Ms. Hovland’s skill at respectfully presenting a character with PTSD and throwing him into chaotic yet humorous situation.

Ms. Hovland mixes together a heap of sweet and a bit of heat to create a fantastic romance. The story is well paced, and it allows for ample primary and secondary character development. Between crazy babushka and poor Heather constantly being caught in the crosshairs, I couldn’t stop laughing while reading Blow Me Away. I enjoyed this fun installment of the Mile High Matched series, and I can’t wait to see if Heather’s "cockies" make an appearance in future books.
