funny and heartmelting

How could I not love a story that made me laugh out loud, swoon, and wish for my own babushka?!

Laugh out loud funny

I really enjoyed this book. Quirky, at times silly, but in a very good way. I laughed out loud and oh my god, I fell in love with Babushka. All the characters were extremely well developed. Neva Navarre and Lance Greenfield are both excellent. Neva’s voices were spot on and her accent for Babyshka was perfect. Lance Greenfield is a dream to listen to. His female voices are extremely well done, and his actual voice is wonderful. From a production standpoint, there were some odd noises when Mr. Greenfield was narrating. I have begun listening to another book narrated by Mr. Greenfield and those noises are not present, so it must be production related.

Funny fake relationship story

Everyone needs a Babushka!! Ex-navy officer, now a florist, Jase is tired of his family’s matchmaking efforts. During, yet another, matchmaking effort by his grandmother...aka Babushka...Jase lies and says that he’s broken-hearted from a recent breakup with the cookie baker across the street. Jase doesn’t expect Babushka to do more than commiserate and lay off the matchmaking...but she does...in a big way. So begins the fake relationship between Jase and Heather. The shenanigans of Babushka will have you howling in laughter! Great story with a beautiful ending. While each book in the series is about a different couple, it’s more enjoyable to read in order.

Great book, great story - highly recommended

Loved the story and how it flowed plus the humor. Loved, loved,loved the humor. It was laugh out loud humor. Would recommend this book to any who likes a little humor with there romance. The author did a great job. Can’t wait to read another book by her.

Ohhh-Em-Geeeeee

I loved getting to know Jase's family in this book. I knew from listening to the others that his grandmother was a hoot! She was! It's been a long time since I laughed so hard from someone's antics! The romance was super sweet... full of heat and some issues. Enjoyed the heck outta this! The narration continued to be fantastic. These two work well together.

So much fun!!!

I loved this one as much as I loved Going Down on One Knee. This series is so much fun! And Jase, who was the fun best friend who happens to be an amazing florist in the last one, is the uber hot leading man here. You can’t help but love him, and laugh at his family, more specifically his Babushka, and the antics she causes. And Heather is just along for the ride, wrapping herself around his (and Babushkas) heart. And once again, Neva & Lance are the perfect team 😍

Loving this series

Loving this series now on to the next one ! So glad I came across this author in Audible for in truly enjoying listing to them during Covid stay home order. Thank you for giving me something to laugh at

Sweet with Heat Rom-com

Blow Me Away is the second book in Christina Hovland’s Mile High Matched series of standalone romantic comedies.

What can I say? Ms. Hovland had me at naval bomb disposal technician turned florist. Jase is no stranger to stress, but his family’s expectations and meddling might lead him to do something crazy—like fake a broken heart to get a few weeks reprieve from their matchmaking efforts. When Jase’s 90-year babushka takes revenge on the "ex-girlfriend", Heather gets her first introduction to the sexy florist’s crazy family. Heather and Jase are lovably flawed characters. However, their relationship and personal baggage are more like steam trunks! Their respective pasts keep getting in the way living life to the fullest, and that was an interesting twist on the usual one-sided relationship history. I appreciated Ms. Hovland’s skill at respectfully presenting a character with PTSD and throwing him into chaotic yet humorous situation.

Ms. Hovland mixes together a heap of sweet and a bit of heat to create a fantastic romance. The story is well paced, and it allows for ample primary and secondary character development. Between crazy babushka and poor Heather constantly being caught in the crosshairs, I couldn’t stop laughing while reading Blow Me Away. I enjoyed this fun installment of the Mile High Matched series, and I can’t wait to see if Heather’s "cockies" make an appearance in future books.

I love this book, and the audiobook is just as good. The narrators did a great job with the humor.
