Kidnapped by Darkness, Bound by Betrayal
When betrayal meets captivity, forbidden passion becomes the ultimate rebellion.

When fearless attorney Charlotte Marlowe, owner of Blackthorn Manor, is snatched by the ruthless Vampire High Council, she’s thrust into a nightmare where the demon Malphas torments her & the vampires want her blood to control the dangerous entities under the manor. Trapped in a labyrinth of ancient curses, Charlotte’s strength is tested as never before.

Meanwhile, Adrian de Lanier—the centuries-old French vampire bound to Blackthorn Manor—joins forces with a formidable Salem witch and the manor’s enigmatic ghosts in a desperate bid to rescue her. As Charlotte endures harrowing trials, she makes a chilling discovery about the devastating forces she’s sworn to contain. And a deep discovery about the vampire she has come to love.

In "Blood and Betrayal," every shadow hides a secret, every kiss ignites peril, and betrayal lurks around every corner. Will the fragile alliance of passion and defiance be enough to conquer the darkness, or is this only the beginning of a far more sinister odyssey? Second part of the thrilling four part series.

It’s an OK story plot. And honestly, if you took all of this series together, I would probably give it a higher review. It just seems so short that normally I would not pick it up if it hadn’t been that it was free.

I come from a place where I have consumed a fair amount of romance and spice. It is refreshing to have a main character be a badass and not fly off the emotional handle once things don't go her way. This lady says, "Okay, this is happening; let's deal with this to survive and be better."

The book does have explicit captive themes. with rape, mental torture and coercion.

The narrative was engaging, although a more nuanced exploration of the protagonist's trauma processing could have enhanced the experience. However, given the prevalence of this theme in contemporary literature, the overall impression remains favorable.

Better than expected.

Terrible beginning. One of the first things to happen is rape. Horrible. Just Horrible
