Publisher's summary

FBI Special Agent Caitlin Diggs faces a paranormal killer when a crystal takes over a teen and leads her on a chase across the country. Empowering the teen with supernatural abilities, the crystal exacts revenge on descendants of soldiers responsible for the Sand Creek Massacre, but it also has a taste for neurotransmitter serotonin, which it needs from humans to continue its consciousness.

Agent Diggs is the only FBI agent in the bureau to consider extreme possibilities and surmises the teen has a means to track his victims' via DNA.

A heart-pounding cat-and-mouse game ensues as Diggs attempts to fool the teen into thinking she is his next victim, but as she plays with fire, a former military man begins to see the crystal as the perfect ingredient for a mind control weapon. Because the crystal possesses sentience, it can counter Diggs' plan for its demise and possibly exert mind control over her as well.

Can Diggs stop this biological internet from taking more victims, becoming a tool for mass mind control, and resist the lure of its blood web?

Fascinating

I almost always struggle when listening to most anything Sci-fi. For whatever reason, no matter how hard I try, it just doesn't hold my attention and I usually find my mind wandering instead of listening. That being said, I actually had NO trouble listening and staying engaged in the story! I actually really enjoyed this book! I think this is because the author does an excellent job of incorporating an element of mystery to keep it intriguing and then masterfully blended sci-fi and mystery together. It even has a little bit of horror added to the mix! The author does a really great job with the characters and character interactions; overall, I think the whole thing was very well written and wraps up nicely.

There are parts of this book that are bizarre and oddly seemed at least semi-plausible. Kind of like watching a car crash, but being too fascinated to look away! I can tell the author took some time to research things, for example the concept of the shakra and the relative 'science' behind crystals for cleansing and to achieve balance, etc. in addition to other metaphysical things. While the crystals don't possess people in real life (hopefully), I find it an interesting twist on the whole concept of the use of crystals.

The narrator was pleasant to listen to and did a great job elevating this story to the next level. Great job on staying consistent with voices and keeping it easy to tell whose point of view we were in.

I received a review copy at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

Really good paranormal mystery book

Overall it was a really good paranormal mystery book. There is a lot of character and scene development. There's a little bit of details that could have been left out to make it move a little faster. i am looking forward to listening to the next in the series.

Super Cool Story

I really enjoyed Blood Web but I kept putting off starting it. Why? I think it's the cover... it just doesn't speak to me at all. Yet, the story which is a blend of detective, horror and fantasy is completely up my alley. If you want thrills, chills and a lot of weirdness - you'll find it here. You will also find a cat. Which is pretty awesome too. Trust me on that. Don't miss out on the cat... Note: I received a review copy of this but this doesn't have any impact on the review I leave. It's 100% my own opinion.

Edge of your seat reading!

Enter the thrilling world of paranormal and psychic enticing suspense. Agent Caitlin Diggs, FBI profiler, is searching for a killer. The characters intertwine greatly with each other, even though there are many, but they are clearly there for a purpose. With links to the past and the present day, the story flows well and brings the reader in for more. The best part is that it's not predictable, and it's written very well. Very thrilling and enjoyable. Makes this reader want to read more from this author.

Blood Web

I enjoyed this book,I was sorry when it ended, but I have book 2!yay! Caitin is an fbi agent who lost her lover/partner not long ago. This new case has her with a new person, she needs to learn to trust. It seems a magic jewel someone has on his person,is causing him to commit heinous murders.I found the narration really bad for the Native speaking man and some other people.Leigh Serling did fine with women characters.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.'

It’s “DARPA”, not D-A-R-P-A

The narration was ok except for the fact that she wouldn’t just pronounce it as “DARPA”. There was one section where I swear she spelled it out 20+ times in 10-15 minutes.

Not my cup of tea.

I received this book for free in return for an honest review.

Honestly, I wasn't overly thrilled by this one. For free it was a bit entertaining and it had a very interesting premise but felt like it was trying really hard to be different and it ended up being a little too eclectic. a sentient power crystal takes a man's mind over and starts to control his actions...it has the basis of an X files episode, and a decent one but didn't quite get there for me. The narrator was ok, but she didn't do a great male voice which made the scenes kind of awkward as well. I wouldn't buy it myself.
