Publisher's Summary

An electrifying debut thriller for fans of Anatomy of a Scandal, Apple Tree Yard and Gone Girl

Alison has it all. A doting husband, an adorable daughter, and a career on the rise - she's just been given her first murder case to defend. But all is never as it seems....

Just one more night. Then I'll end it.

Alison drinks too much. She's neglecting her family. And she's having an affair with a colleague whose taste for pushing boundaries may be more than she can handle.

I did it. I killed him. I should be locked up.

Alison's client doesn't deny that she stabbed her husband - she wants to plead guilty. And yet something about her story is deeply amiss. Saving this woman may be the first step to Alison saving herself.

I'm watching you. I know what you're doing.

But someone knows Alison's secrets. Someone who wants to make her pay for what she's done and who won't stop until she's lost everything....

A disturbing, toxic and compelling novel that explores the power of fear and desire, jealousy and betrayal, love and hate, Blood Orange introduces a stunning new voice in psychological suspense.

Superior Thriller well narrated

I thoroughly enjoyed this book it is very very clever and has a great twist. This is a complex story exploring the darker side of human nature and I so enjoyed this listen that I resented any interruptions ! and heard it all over one weekend. Both of the main characters are really well depicted and though hard to like in the beginning evolved into complex interesting characters. I can't wait for Harriet Tyce's next book.

Blood Orange

Kept me completely engrossed from beginning to end. Some thoroughly un-likeable characters but a good story, well read.

It’s good, but not great!

This book somehow missed the mark for me. It is difficult to pinpoint why. It is a reasonable story. Perhaps it is because there are no average responses or interactions. Every moment, with every character is extreme in some way.

The narration is accurate, and read with appropriate emphasis etc. One star is lost for her only because her voice did not work for me.

Very good, I stayed up late to finish

At first I thought the main character was awful but grew to like & understand her. then the tension grew & grew to a very satisfactorily ending . My only criticism is that the narrator sounded much older than the character was supposed to be

Reserve judgement

This is a fascinating thriller with many twists and turns and it is easy to judge the characters without knowing the full story. Just as you think you’ve sussed it, you turn a corner....and realise you were wrong. Great book and brilliant read if you like a good suspense novel.

Entertaining but Average

The narrator was good, but for me, it didn't suit the main protagonist, who I felt would have been portrayed better by a younger reader - closer in age to the character, especially as it is written in the first person.

I enjoyed listening to this story and it kept me engaged, but I expected the murder case, handled by the main character to be more developed and complex, it was quite predictable. Interesting storyline between the main character and her husband, but as another review wrote, all scenes were very extreme - though not very developed with a lack of suspense.

Fantastic-edge of my seat.

This is a cracking listen, lots of threads and interesting twists. A good contemporary insight into a variety of toxic relationships.
Looking forward to more from the author.
Narrator very good, I’ve listened to other work of hers and is nicely done. I felt her voice is a little old for the main character but it’s a minor issue.

The worst book I’ve read in months

This is not a thriller. It’s 6 hours of pathetic characters, followed by 1 hour of so-called twists which were completely predictable from the outset. Perhaps I misunderstood what this book would be about since it’s billed as a thriller. Waste of time.
