Publisher's summary

Sometimes what your life is missing is an eccentric group of older ladies to take you under their wing...

When Rae Sutton’s mama passes away and leaves her the house where she grew up, Rae can’t imagine how the little old place might restore her broken life. Mourning the recent loss of her marriage, she takes the house and settles back into her tiny hometown with her fourteen-year-old daughter, Molly Margaret, and their overweight dog.

There she’s embraced by her mother’s close-knit circle of friends, the Third Thursday ladies. Though almost half their age and far less confident of positive outcomes, Rae joins their ministry-slash-book-club-slash-gossip circle and allows the women to speak wry honesty and witty humor into her tired heart. As a new career and a new romance bring their own complications, Rae relies on the unlikely family she’s found and begins to wonder if her future holds more hope than she ever could have imagined.

“Wise, witty, and full of Southern charm,Bless Your Heart, Rae Sutton is as refreshing as a tall glass of sweet tea on a hot summer day!” —Denise Hunter, bestselling author of the Riverbend Romances

The story is nice, but the narrator was not

I liked the story in this book. Predictable and sweet. But, wow, was the narrator awful! She couldn’t do male voices at all and you could barely tell one woman’s voice from another. She “read” the story badly, often putting the emphasis on the wrong word in a sentence, as if she wasn’t well prepared. And worst of all, she spoke with a painful-to-hear “vocal fry,” catching her words in her throat. It definitely took away from my enjoyment of the book.

Great story if you can get past the narrator

The narrator tried to read in a southern voice to match the author’s background in telling the story. Epic fail. Some of the phrases and words that are typical of a southern lady were mispronounced and misinterpreted. I love Susannah Lewis. The narrator, not so much.

Such a great novel!

Susannah B Lewis, I LOVED this book! I wish the storyline had continued on longer. I felt like the reader is left a little hanging with not knowing the hows and whens and wheres, but I still loved it! Please write a sequel!!!
I wasn’t fond of the narration. The narrator was nearly monotone. I really with the author had narrated this audiobook—she has a wonderful Southern voice.
Overall, definitely recommend for good clean Christian comedy & romance!

Very Good Book

This book very so good. So good that I hope there will be a movie. I just lost my mom and this book helped me so must.
The girl reading the story What kind of annoying with her old lady voices every time I was listening to my book my husband had to leave the room because he hated her voice. But the book was so good that I overlooked her annoying voice.

Loved it!

I loved the third Thursday ministry meetings. The characters personalities meshed well. Had some laugh out loud moments with heartfelt real life relatable moments intertwined as well. Perfect easy listening. Hope to see it in a movie someday!!

Great book!

I loved this book! I laughed and cried. I have listened to Susannah's previous books that were based on her life. This was my first experience with her fiction, and it was fabulous! I am of similar age to the author and main character in this book, and I really loved all of the references to our childhood, as well as this stage of life.

Pray, forgive and repeat.

Narration was very monotone and boring. If that was not bad enough, this is a very religious book with scripture and forgiveness for all transgressions. This really made me feel lost in how people who pray find peace when I did that for years and kept getting screwed over. I stopped forgiving everyone else and finally forgave myself for allowing myself to forgive people who didn't deserve it. Someone who does the unthinkable when they know what they are doing, has no excuse and does not deserve to be trusted again. Not like you can anyway. I feel that the husband was not forgivable. Once a cheater and it will never ever feel safe again. Why put yourself through that or live in that just because you have a daughter together. I had kids and it made it worse for us all. He obvious made himself feel better. Time for her to find someone who makes her feel safe and loved. After being cheated on your partner can never make it right. They can only gloss over it for the rest of your lives and hope not to get caught again. I grew up, I hope the rest of these women do too. I'm disgusted and wish I had never wasted my time.
