Publisher's summary

In the perilous jungles just north of the great city of Hammerhal Aqsha, Chaos reigns. There, a powerful Tzeentchian wizard grows in disciples and in might as his maledictions leach all that is good from the land. It is Neave Blacktalon, first of Sigmar’s Knights-Zephyros, who must vanquish this foe.

Yet the huntress soon realises that even the glow of the Twin-Tailed City cannot protect her from the darkness. Blighted by terrible visions, she fears that her very spirit has been tainted. Blacktalon must choose whether to abandon her duty in the quest for a cure or face the fearsome judgment of the Sacrosanct chamber.

A solid stromcast story

The story is good. My only problem is how it does not match tabletop.

Interesting Story and strong reading

this is the first book were I got in to the characters so much I could feel the loss and the pain they felt. Emma Gregory is a awesome reader. She really has a range of voices and I have loved her in this but as much as the Naghast book. Very cool enjoyable story.

Hurt by Narration

The storylines and plot development points were interesting enough but the narrator's frequent and continued whispered voices or distorted voices from characters really detracted from the experience for me. It almost became untenable and I was tempted to simply stop listening and not even finish the story. However I did listen through and the conclusions were satisfying but the narrator's voices and especially the whispering were very disappointing to me as a listener.

A great book!

It was an amazing, engaging story with interesting characters that I quickly became invested in. Having a female narrator for a Warhammer book was also great.

A Very Cool Stormcast Novel

The narrator, Emma Gregory does a great job with this one! The story is a nice mix of Stormcast and Sylvanith(sp?) fighting Nurgle. Get it if you are a fan of anyone of these factions. Very enjoyable.

Fantastic narration.

The story is a solid 3-3.5 but the narration brings it way up and the characters are more interesting than most stormcast books.

Fun story, and I really liked the main character.

it was a good story. my only complaint is that it would have been better if the main character and one of the supporting characters became a long term team up.

favorite xharacter

great story about one of the best characters in the game and her struggles, where she meet new and old foes and friends.

Great performance, good story, too long

I felt the story was bogged down by very repetitive fluff that had diminishing returns on its purpose. You could easily chop off a good hour or so. Your mileage may vary.
