Black Gold = Standing Ovation

If you could sum up Black Titan in three words, what would they be?

This was an excellent historical journey about a business giant.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Black Titan?

A.G. Gaston was deemed the business man of the century by Black Enterprise. He lived his life not only building business, but in service to others. He practiced business in unconventional ways. Some very trendsetting. How he chose to set up some of his senior employees when he retired and sold the company worth many millions back to them was groundbreaking and inspiring. Standing Ovation.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I learned so much!

This book inspired and taught me a great deal. I had no idea how much AG Gaston was involved with the civil rights movement. And that he is the one that bailed Martin Luther King Jr out of jail in Birmingham. He is truly one of the unsung heroes of not only African-American history, but in our AMERICAN history. Not the best narration, though.

Yes a Titan for sure

Never heard of Mr. Gaston, but WoW, what a story. Its hard to even imagine, how he navigated all the obstacles to achieve the success he had. It also made me think of the economic landscape we currently live in & the lack of financial education that destroys so many people. I am so glad I heard a story that will motivate me.

Inspirational

There is so much black history, which is an integral part of AMERICAN history that has been left out of the usual dialogue. As a white child growing up in a predominantly white town....I knew even then that there was so much more to know about our history. I had no idea what, but even then I could tell that our history books were an oversimplified summary of the whole story. Books like this help to fill in the gap.

Inspirational and Informative

Glad to know about this Giant. Should be required reading, especially for young black people. Love the fact that it was written by a young female from a perspective two generations after him.
