Fully updated, and including three new chapters, this new edition of Gerard Whateley's acclaimed best seller documents the career of the racehorse who has transcended the track to become an Australian icon. It begins with the entrancing story of champion trainer Peter Moody, who came to select and guide the fastest horse the world had ever seen. Under Moody's patient and masterful guidance, the hulking injury-prone filly matured into a champion, idolised by a devoted following more akin to a rock band than a racehorse.

With her invincible run and marauding dominance, Black Caviar has returned racing to the glory days of more than half a century past and secured a reputation that will echo for as long as horses.

Loved all the detail in this book. All of the history and even the little side stories brought the experience to life. Could not stop reading. listened to for 8 hours one day. Great book for horse racing fans and horse people alike. Only criticism I could come up with is that when retelling the race call it sounds a bit monotone. oh and all will be reading again and will be giving as a gift for multiple horse lovers and racing fans this year.

love the detail!
