Der Autor:
Kurd Laßwitz (1848-1920) war Schriftsteller und Wissenschaftler der Mathematik, Physik und Geographie. Er gilt als Begründer des deutschsprachigen Science Fiction. Seine Werke sind mutiger als die seiner Kollegen J. Verne und H.G. Wells, da sie weiter in die Zukunft ragen: "Bis an die Grenzen des mit heutigen Begriffen Erklärbaren" (Laßwitz)

This really only makes sense to listen if you have a really deep - I mean: really really deep - background in Sci-Fi classics -, for instance won by having read positively all Heyne Science Fiction Classics volumes, namely everything by Dominik, Laßwitz, Kellermann, EE Doc Smith etc etc pp. As such, I found it interesting and it reminded my of a lot of aspects of other works (the non-gravity drive of the Lensmen and other bits and pieces). Your mileage may vary!
