Publisher's summary

From the bestselling author of the Thrown Away Children series comes another heartbreaking story of life in foster care.

Louise has trouble on her hands from the first moment that 5-year-old Billy Blackthorn comes to stay. He is one of more than 20 children taken into care from a single family, and erupts into the Allen household with a volatility that is frightening and disturbing in equal measure. It is only as Louise begins to uncover the secrets of Billy's dark past that she begins to understand what made his family 'untouchable'.

Wow

It shakes me to my core to know things like this happen everyday. Because of 2 corrupt people they were able to hide this families horrific crimes. Only 2 people? There had to be more people willing to look the other way cause it suited them. Louise allen is a fantastic writer her content isn’t for the faint of hearts but it has to be said for everyone to realize these kind of problems will not go away or get better without making people uncomfortable and pushing for what is right. It’s truly sad!

No spoilers

Okay so I want to say such a good book because it is but it is a dark. I’ve listened to all the well known foster carers like Cathy Glass and etc and honestly this is the craziest story I’ve ever read about a child background. Louise is so hilarious though with her sarcasm and sassy commentary.

I love how she writes. this story, especially for delicate people, is hard to listen to. it is so sad, yet infuriating. some people are truly evil.

Thank You!

Thank you for all you do. Have now listened to all the stories except for Thrown Away Child which is next. I knew the child care system was bad, it’s bad in the US too, but wow, I had no idea. I recently watched a Netflix documentary, The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez, and was shocked at the varying levels of corruption and blind eyes by the very people put in charge of child safety. Sad, truly sad.

Can’t wait for your next story, which is coming when? 😉

woke writer

this woman should not be allowed near children. Her wokeness regarding the non sense of trangenderism is harmfull to the placements under her care. She perpetuates and supports their confused minds, instead of looking for help.
I like the narrator. The writer is drsgraceful. I wich I could be reimbursed of the money I spent on this appalling book
