Resumen del Editor

From the bestselling author of the Thrown Away Children series comes another heartbreaking story of life in foster care.

Parents Angelina and Ben exist in enviable luxury: not just wealth, success and a gorgeous home, but a loving relationship and beautiful twin babies to complete the perfect family.

But having it all means that you have the most to lose. And when cracks begin to appear things fall apart at a shocking pace; and it's twins Max and Mia who suffer the most.

Money isn't enough to paper over the problems in this extraordinary and heartbreaking story. It is a foster-caring experience like no other, and one which tests Louise's emotional strength to the core.

Max & Mia’s Story

Melanie Crawley does a great job of narrating Max & Mia’s Story written by Louise Allen. The story thankfully, has an unexpected ending than some of the other foster care books, such as Thrown Away Children by Louise Allen.

Louise Allen is my favorite author!

I've listen to this series now 3 times. The way she writes it's like I'm there in the story. I love true crime and ran across Louise Allen a few years ago and have been hooked since.

Another amazing story

I have read every book in This series and highly recommend them. They pull and tug at your heart strings and make your smile and laugh. Knowing they are based on true stories makes it even better. 10 out of 10 all the way around do not pass up the books and def read in order to see the changes in the main family from one child to the next

An inside look

I have really enjoyed the series. It gives an inside view of the good, bad and ugly parts of the foster care system.

Expected a better storyline

While the narrator was good I think I listened to this book with the expectation that the story would of been a bit dramatic like her book about her time in the system. I was bored to pieces in the 1st half with all the details about the twins, school and the home life. I expected more drama. I guess it’s because I listened to Louise’s last book about her time in foster care which was full of twists and turns and tears I expected the same from this one. This one was not for me.

complainer

the story flowed well and was easy to listen too, but as far as fostering stories go the UK has better writers. I felt she focused too much on the money of fostering. She even goes as far as talking about how she will lose a paycheck when her long-term turns 18. The other 2 authors I listen to adopted their long terms. Don't call someone your daughter, mention she might have security issues and leave them as a permanent foster kid. Then she talks about spending money on the twins and focuses on how to get reimbursed. This whole book focuses on money. From the wealthy parents of the twins to the complaining about private fostering services. It makes me wonder if they wouldn't hire her.
