Publisher's summary

This detective is bringing the handcuffs—and the bite.

When Brandy finds herself accidentally mated to a werewolf, she's totally cool with it. If only Detective Gruff felt the same way. The man is so darned scared he runs away to a remote cabin in the woods.

Lucky for him, Brandy isn't about to give up.

Billy never wanted to get hitched. He'd seen firsthand with his parents how ugly it could get. He never counted on meeting Brandy, a feisty nurse with a bubbly outlook on life who looks past his grumpy façade.

It isn't just danger that brings them together. She is temptation itself.

When she's taken from him, he realizes he'll do anything, even unleash the big bad wolf, to save her.

Contains mature themes.

Not your typical damsel in distress

This is a book with a damsel, and she is in distress being stalked by a vampire. Who better to protect her than a werewolf?

What, no goat jokes?

“You’re not a mature kind of person.”
Brandy: “I have a plant!”
“It’s plastic.”

This one flips the script a bit and lets perpetually sunny Brandy be the one who takes no prisoners and goes for what she wants. There’s quite a cartoon vibe, with frying pan hits and kitten-klaws-of-death. And I love how Brandy uses werewolf romance books as her relationship guide. It’s fun, even if I’d have liked a bit less slapstick and a bit more sizzle. Also, the F bomb/parental trauma scene at the start and
the ode to edibles stuff harshed the mood a little. Finally, considering his name is Billy Gruff, there should have been a lot more goat jokes.
