Publisher's Summary

For Social Sinners’ drummer, Ethan “Diamond” Taylor, everything that went wrong seemed to roll off him and life was about having fun and getting off. What others never saw was what simmered beneath the surface.

Holding on by a string, things have reached their breaking point, taking a turn for the worse, and he’s forced to make some tough decisions. Is living in the limelight all that it’s cracked up to be? Or is it time to cut the cord and move on? Is it in the cards for him to have the whole marriage, white picket fence, a desk job and...kids?

Diamond’s story is one of strength, love, loss, and hope.

Unexpected couple

To see Diamond and Easton both find their happily ever after was beautiful. They are an unconventional pair that no one saw coming. But the way Easton takes care of the bands, he needs someone else to take a step up and take care of him. Diamond is the person who does that. He was once considered the “straight guy” in the band. Diamond is the one who needs to care for Easton. Addiction has hit this family once before, and this time, Easton needs help. I have read and listened to this book, and it sneaks up on you the heartbreak for Easton. I will reread this series.

loved it

I loved this story. Tyler Darby really brings the story to life and makes you fall in love with the characters even more. Told from Diamond’s POV. This book has all the feels. Diamond's story is amazing. The struggles that both Diamond and Easton have gone through but they are stronger together.

Really brings a humanity to Diamond!

Thought this was such an interesting relationship to explore. Who'd have known Easton would be such an intriguing character! Narration was spot on.

Wonderful!

I really loved the narrator’s voice, who is new to me. He did a great job bringing these characters to life. I love that we get to hear from all members of the band in each book. It really strengthens the storyline. I also loved getting to know the twins better.

Drummer, Church Gay - three things that don't mesh

Drummer, Church, Gay - three things that don't mesh.

Diamond, a drummer in a successful group Social Sinners, secretly seeing the band manager Easton.
Easton has PTSD and has suicidal thoughts; Diamond was brought up by a Church Minister who hates gays and is extremely controlling of his family.

TL Travis writes beautifully about all the struggles these two young men face and their friends and families. It's a great book that takes some turns that you aren't expecting, and also that jerks the heartstrings.

In the end, you have the best ending ever, but it takes time for them to reach that point.

I enjoyed the narration and thought Tyler Darby did a good job. I would definitely recommend this book.

Love devotion and support.

This is Diamond, the Social Sinners group’s drummer and East the manager’s story. It’s an emotional ride addressing East’s PTSD and suicidal thoughts. But it’s still a story about love, devotion and support of friends and family with a smattering of humour. The characters are wonderful and carry the plot well. I felt alongside them at the high emotion scenes. And there’s a lovely ending. The narration was good but I felt it didn’t match the emotions of the book at times. It was a little too forceful and harsh. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this book and plan to read the rest in the series.
