Great Book

Beyond Duty: Love on the Double Book Two was a great read by L.A. Remenicky. Jessie served as a Marine and has finally found life at home. He becomes an EMT and helps his best friend rescuing dogs. Dori is running from her ex when she meets Jessie. She is stranded with a flat tire that she can't fix because she has no jack. Jessie helps her. She is trying to ignore their attaction but it isn't easy for her. I loved reading Jessie and Dori's story and can't wait to read more by L.A. Remenicky. Johnny Cee did another great job of narrating the characters.

Jessie’s story!!

So good getting Jessie’s story! When we ended AJ’s story, it was his wedding and his wife’s bff, Dori had just been abducted by her abusive ex! Jessie’s story gives more insight into the relationship between Jessie and Dori. There is a saying that Monroe men immediately know when they’ve met the love of their life and Jessie believes this. He fell hard and fast for Dori when he changed her flat tire on the side of the road. When he discovers that she’s his SIL best friend, he knows that he’s right. However, Jessie is still struggling with PTSD and isn’t sure that he can have a meaningful relationship. Can love conquer all? Cute novella that’s worth the listen.

Action packed and loving!

It's time for Jessie and Dori's story, and this one is chock full of action! There is something about these Monroe brothers that is so enticing. Jessie is bitten by the Monroe love bug when he first sees Dori. His "Beauty" is the one, there is no doubt and he has fall fast and fallen forever. But has she? Dori has a past that she is definitely afraid of and is just waiting to catch up with her. Can she give her heart to Jessie knowing this? This is a fast paced story, letting us have a peek at AJ and Rina as they plan their future and Jessie with Dori as they get to know each other. Both characters are flawed, which makes the story even better. Remenicky deals a little with domestic abuse and PTSD, giving it a compassionate view and letting us understand and fall for our couple. It's a quick and easy listen, leaving us with a slight cliffhanger!

Johnny Cee narrates this one, his voice is warm and comforting. As Jessie and AJ, he gives the twins a definite alpha quality, but makes them each easily distinguishable. He easily transitions to the women and the story flows quick and easy.

Uneventful and predictable.

Really did not enjoy this book. Should have known the perfect match for both brothers right at the beginning was a no go. Very little character development and the story was predictable.
