Loved it

I loved this book. Time travel romance is one of my favourite genres so I couldn't wait to jump into this story.
I probably should have started at book one to get a complete picture and full enjoyment but this book can easily be listened to as a standalone.
The narration was very good and made very easy listening. The characters were performed excellently.
The story line was different and intriguing. I couldn't wait to see what happened next and I wanted to listen to the story in one sitting.

This was a very good, entertaining listen and I will be checking out the earlier books in the series.

I voluntarily reviewed an audio review copy.

Fascinating from the very start

Wow what an interesting book this is. I love time travel and this was better then most. Not reading/listening to the first two did make it a tad confusing in the beginning so if you are in to time travel I would pick up at least the first one as I have no doubt you will be back for this one. For example it took me half the book to figure out if York was from the past or the future, it didn’t matter which it was as it makes no difference in the book I am just one of those readers who wants all the answers. Anyway. I loved the storyline, I can’t wait to get the first two books and meet Sandy and to find out York’s story. The ending was PERFECT! Definitely recommend

Between the Shadows

Time travel at its finest! This book is the 3rd in the Lake Lanier Mysteries series. While it can be enjoyed as a stand alone, it is definitely more mind blowing when the books are read/listened to in order.

The present day mystery of the ghost of the lake has prompted a time jump to over 160 years in the past. Saving one person could lead to sacrificing another and possibly changing the future (present) as it is known.

Casi McLean has woven a very detailed tale. The twists and turn kept me guessing and the mind blowing reveal at the end was awesome!

The narration by Kristin James was very enjoyable. Great timing, emotion and differing voices. I would not hesitate to listen to more of her performances.

Great Book

This book is a awesome roller coaster through time. I absolutely love the time travel box. I feel like there is not enough out there. This take on time travel is very unique to anything that I’ve ever read before. The author weaves a tale where it is seamless and you don’t have an issue following the different timelines. You really feel like you are in each time zone. Your work is probably one of my favorite main characters and McKenzie are just amazing.

This is the first book that I’ve heard Kristen James narrator and I think she did an absolutely phenomenal job. There were characters in the book that had different accents and to me they did not sound fake at all. Her pace and tone overall it was very consistent which for me is important because a narrator can really make or break and audiobook and I had no issue listening to her at all.

The production of the audiobook is the way they sound was really consistent. There was no back noise from what I could hear.
I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Casi McLean. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

just missing that little something to make 5stars

I enjoyed this one just as much, but a bit more than the first two of this series. I am certain because I went back to re-listen to them before starting this one. I had to go back . . .

Back to the shores of Lake Lanier. Back to another gripping mystery through the times. Back to another romance that was once separated by time and space. Adventure. Intrigue. Intensity. Opportunity. Fate.
There was more here than just Kenzi and York making that trip back to historical Georgia. They were there for a purpose, but was that the same one or one of the heart. How much of there trip back was fate pushing them in the right direction? How much of that was their chance to right a wrong or find love?

Kristin James did a good job with the diction and tone of the audio. I could feel emotions coming through the audio. I could make a connection with the characters through her emphasis of the words of Casi McLean. McLean brought to life another time travel mystery by the lake that makes you almost want for the same opportunity. That one chance you may have at your lifetime of love and connection.

A Time travel romance

Between the Shadows is a Time travel book. It is part of the Lake Lanier Mysteries series. it is book 3 in the series. In the book York and Mackenzie Reynolds must travel through time back to 1865 to save a ghost woman. York has found a woman in our time but there is something very strange about her looks and the boundaries she can pass. York convinces Kinsey they must travel back to 1865 and save Isobel before she is brutally raped and murdered.

They travel back in time to Georgia at the end of the Civil War. Once there they run across James, a soldier from the war who is trying to get home. Along with James is Brady another soldier who the war has turned into a brutal man. James takes Kinsey hostage in order to escape death from York and Collin, Isobels brother.

It is pretty much love at first site for York and Isobel, and for Kinsey and James. Now the tricky part is can Kinsey leave James in 1865 to return to the present in order to save James' life ?
