Good book

Liked ! Liked! Liked! Lilly and Dante and their sister inherents a house from their mother that's falling down. They are deemed bad luck and the town folks wants them ran off legally, so they have code enforce Nolan give many violation notices. Nolan, a werewolf, is instantly attracted to Lilly so he does everything in his power to help Lilly. As Lilly, Dante, Nolan, and aunt Polly deal with the craziness of of fixing the house, a threat comes into play, a unknown half sister is discovered alive, and all craziness is broke loose.
Aunt Polly is a person of reason in a really wacky way. I love her character. Lilly and are to cyclical and stubborn but family means everything to them. Nolan is very supportive and protective of Lilly. There's lots of family drama and a bit of danger and lots of magic. Also I like listening to the narrator's smooth voice as reads this book.

Cute story, loved the narrator. Would recommend for a short escape read. Some minor plot issues but good nonetheless.

QUIRKY, PARANORMAL, COZY MYSTERY, ROMANCE

BETTER HAUNTS AND GARDEN GNOMES is the first book in the (Un)Lucky Valley series. I believe you’ll need to read them in the order of release.

Perfectly quirky, paranormal, cozy mystery romance. This is fun and entertaining with a cast of characters with an amazing array of powers. I thought it was a great start to this new series, and there were tons of belly laughs.

Narration: B.J. Harrison does a beautiful job of providing the voices for the different characters – I especially loved Aunt Polly.

Note: While I received this book as a gifted audiobook copy via Audio BookCrave, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

Settling In

Lily Goode discovers that she has inherited what appears to be a run-down, enormous Victorian house in Lucky Valley, Colorado. There is also magic in her bloodline that she was unaware of and which will give the reader/listener some humorous moments. And then there is Aunt Polly. She puts the life in the story, so be ready to laugh. We also have Nolan Dawson, a home inspector who gives Lily a difficult time. Also something else to deal with, we have unexplained hallucinations and garden gnomes (who do not remain where they are put).

And finally, the mystery: who is sabotaging Lily’s home and getting desperate to force her family from Lucky Valley? Dive right into this story and see whether Lily and Aunt Polly can shed some light on the mystery and discover their enemy. The narrator for the audiobook is B.J. Harrison. He does a great job with the voices to make it easy for the listener to get an accurate idea of what each character is like. It helps to set the mood and is an enjoyable way to “read” and enjoy the book.

Fun and magical new series!

Imagine finding out your mother (who abandoned you and your siblings at a firehouse when you were young) actually had something to inherit in a very small town named (Un)Lucky Valley. Now imagine a crazy aunt with a yard full of garden gnomes and a pet lobster welcoming you to your new home. Add to this the discovery you are a witch, werewolves are real and the town blames everything that goes wrong on your family. Result? A wild, crazy and fun story with ghosts, mayhem, curses, secrets and a bit of romance. I found the story to be a lot of fun and listened straight through. I thought the narrator did a great job of bringing the story to life. I definitely recommend this audio book!

Entertaining

Cute paranormal romance mystery! The characters are likable and the mystery of the home is entertaining. The narrator did a good job with providing unique voices for each character and appropriate tone inflections for each scene. Bad Luck in Lucky Valley

After her mother abandoned them at a fire station, Lily has spent her life trying to keep her family together. Now she's the heiress to a house and properties in Lucky Valley, the ancestral home of the Goods, but somebody or something doesn't what them there.
This book is full of some of the quirkiest characters I've ever encountered, and not a of them are human.
Michelle Pillow's cozy mystery is full of zany happenings, weird accidents, a lot of mystery and even a little romance. It's also one of the funniest stories I've read in a long time.
Well worth your time if you like light paranormal or quirky cozy mysteries. I sure enjoyed it.
