Waste of an audible credit

The book was hard to get through because it seemed to drag. It was quite drab and dry, didn't get to the meat of what was going on until the end of the book. I wouldn't recommend this book.

Kept me wanting more but maybe too predictable?

It was a story that kept me wanting more, and I loved that it’s from the perspective of the antagonist. However, about halfway through I felt like I had figured everything out and I kept hoping it would unfold differently.

Best Day Ever

A pretty decent thriller. Good story line, quite brilliant as well. Had me hungry to return to the book soon as possible.

Fun read!

Okay so I love a good psychological thriller... I love being sucked in by the first few pages and then swept up for a day or two in a book lala land. This book totally did that for me. It kept me wanting to continue listening until it was over. It is a fast fun read. Don’t hesitate spending a credit on this book!

Took a minute to get rolling, but it was good

This dude is a real piece of work. It was a little slow going, but I understand why so much slow build was necessary to really get to the meat of who this guy was and just how dastardly (I don't get to use this word too often. LOL) he really is.

There are some crazy people out there!

Best Day Ever: A Psychological Thriller by Kaira Rouda, narrated by Graham Halstead and Amy McFadden was one I had on pre-order and couldn't wait to listen to! I was so excited when it finally appeared on my Audible app! I definitely recommend it to those who enjoy thrillers and books about psycho, crazy people...husbands, in particular! It is well-written, and every time when I thought this man (husband) couldn't get any more looney, he did!

The performance by Graham Halstead was controlled and consistent. He played the part well, and his calm demeanor, overall, made the main character seem even more psycho! We only heard from Amy McFadden at the end (in the Epilogue), which disappointed me a little because I really enjoy listening to her narrate books! I thought we would get to listen to both of them throughout the entire book, but, sadly, that was not the case. :-(

Overall, I would rate this audiobook between 4-4.5 stars. It kept me fully engaged, and I couldn't wait to continue listening the second I got out of work. This was my first book from Kaira Rouda, and I 100% plan to check out more of her work. I'm also excited to see what she comes up with next!

Portrait of a bad guy

It's not a spoiler to say that Paul, the first-person narrator of this dark tale, is a really bad guy. Just how bad is reavealed pretty quickly, so as the story moves forward, the reader is really hoping for justice for all the characters he has damaged. Unfortunately, the ending just didn't deliever. The epilogue / wrap up, felt flat and unsatisfying. Is the author planning a sequel ? Please, no more Paul ! He's just too distasteful. Graham Halstead was great as Paul, reading him with just the right degree of snarkiness and evil.

Narration perfection. A very chilling psychological thriller.

What starts out as a happily married couple on their way for a lovely getaway to their summer cottage soon later a devious turn. As the trip continues, there are twists and turns and surprises. The ending is so well crafted and well deserved. I could not stop listening. Graham Halstead’s narration was addicting and so well done. Recommended.

Pretty good

Overall I enjoyed this book. There were a few boring spots but for the most part it held my attention. It’s not really a thriller in my opinion but it did have a few twists and turns mixed it. If you’re on the fence I would say go for it.

Best Narrator Ever!!

Loved this book! Could not put it down- just creepy enough in a subtle way - fantastic narrator brings everything to life without being too graphic. Highly recommend! And- perfect title.
