Publisher's summary

Being both a witch and a werewolf might not be enough....

My name's Tamara Bentley and lately everything I touch turns to crap. My best friend is missing, I was forced to kill my favorite aunt...oh, and my parents have been kidnapped by the queen of the fairies. It's enough to give a person a complex.

There's no time to drown my sorrows, though. I've got two warring factions to contend with. Neither the witches nor the werewolves like me, much less respect me, but somehow I need to rally them to my cause if I'm to have any chance of rescuing my parents.

And that might be the least of my worries. A dark force has been unleashed and it's dead set on introducing me to a whole new world of hurt. I'll have to dig deeper than I ever have before to stop its plans, save my parents, and face off against a freaking goddess. No pressure there, right?

Best one yet.

When I started the series I wasn't sure about it. After the first book I was still pretty ambivalent. The second was good enough to make me want to find out what was going to happen with the characters further along. I had to of course get the third book and I'm pretty glad I did except that there isn't a fourth on audible.

Hey Rick, eat a big of bag of them...

I’ve been waiting for book 3 for what feels like years now and finally get this work of art only to leave me hanging for more. I’ve seen his process and ffs it’s going to be like another year and half for book 4. Probably longer out of spite once he reads this...eat a sack of Richards, Rick.

For anyone confused about whether or not I enjoyed the book, yes. It was an awesome adventure and the narration is perfect. But don’t tell Rick or it will go straight to his ego.

Loved it.

This is a great series. I love Bent and can’t wait for her to really kick some butt. This thing is just getting started. I am ready for the next 8 books. I hope it’s not too long a wait for the next one. Rick quickly became one of my favorite authors with the Bill the vampire books and now this series.

Enter the fey

Bent is on a quest to find her parents!

Our foul mouth heroine is bound to ruffle some feathers in her own unique way.

Loaded with sarcastic quips and and powerful beings around the corner what could go wrong.

A Sojourn Offworld

This is my least favorite book of the series so far. Most of it is spent in the land of faerie and I just didn’t enjoy that. There is still plenty of action, but it just didn’t resonate with me the way it did in the first two books. Bent is trying to rescue her parents and her friend Reba from the land of the faeries and it’s a nonstop battle from start to finish. There were moments when I thought things didn’t really make sense. For example, the corrosive blood of one of the faeries disrobes Bent during a duel to the death and her family members distract her by worrying about her modesty in the middle of the battle. Now my parents would never approve of public nudity in anyway, but I can't see that being the thing that they focused on while I fought for my life. It just didn’t make sense. The book does set up the next in the series quite well, however, and explain a couple of the weird things that happened in books one and two.
