Publisher's Summary

Justin and Toni were friends.

Besties, with a whole list of life rules developed over a friendship that started when they were kids. As long as they stuck to the rules, even when they blended a business relationship into the friendship, things went off without a hitch.

But then one of them broke the rules - it was Justin. Justin broke the rules - and Toni has been mad about it ever since.

She's spent the last several years traveling the globe to cultivate her business, but now she's back in town. Her only goals? Help her parents with "Mr. Bestseller's" signing at the store, help them pack up their house to sell, and get out of town without too much interaction with her former best friend.

Mr. Bestseller has different goals.

He broke the rules - no getting around that, and he's not trying to. His main goal now that Toni is finally home is to get her to hear him out...and get his friend back.

Neither of them anticipated that the rift in their relationship would be the catalyst for seeing each other in a whole different light. But now that they do, they're wondering if it may be time to make some amendments to those rules.

Or at the very least...bend a few.

Contains mature themes.

Loved it… but…

This series was great. Unlike other black romance novels I’ve read, which are longer and cover more of the relationship, Mrs. Jones spends a lot of time on the development part- which is great, and equally frustrating. Toni and Justin are the most frustrating characters ever! Their indecisiveness and unwillingness to say how they really feel for a majority of the book made me want to put this down several times. But I’m glad I stuck with it because the end was very satisfying, and I’m glad She wrapped up Jason’s and Joseph’s stories too. Overall, good listen.

Wow.

This series is real. It's the best read that I've ever read that speaks in the dialect of my culture. It's refreshing and totally worth the credit. I want more books like this one.

Simply amazing!

Omg I loved me some Toni and Justin especially when the sparks began to fly. I lost a few strands of hair because boy did I just want them to get it and move in for the kill but I definitely understand the hesitation. Friends to lovers is my all time fav. I can’t wait to dive into the other brothers

Okay Ending To The Series!!!

Bending The Rules was my least favorite book in The Wright Brothers series. This book was so frustrating! Toni and Justin worked my last nerve! You have two grown azz adults who, for some unknown reason, refused to communicate their feeling to one another. And, this went on just about the entire book. I don't like story lines where the characters are this silly. Also, it was kind of hard for me to buy into the romantic aspect because, they'd fallen out with each other and hadn't spoken in seven years. Now, all of sudden, y'all are hot for one another?!!! I guess..... Then you had Toni not tellin' her mama her fiancee broke up with her because she couldn't have kids. I though that was a little ridiculous too but, I guess I can understand why she did it. The constant lack of communication and the secret holding made it hard to enjoy this book. I'm just glad Toni and Justin finally got their shyt together even if it took damn near the entire book to do it.

I enjoyed this book very much! The narration was done well and the story flowed. I would love for this author to write another book as soon as possible .

Cute

Like most of this author's work, I thought it was cute. It's quite clear that Christina C. Jones writes for an audience that is within my demographic (black women, 25-35ish) and I enjoy reading her books because I do feel seen. As much as I enjoy reading her books, I'm often left wanting more (That was not the case with three of her books: I Think I Might Love You, Haunted, and A Mutually Beneficial arrangement...all of those books were bomb. I think the last one is the only one not currently available in an audiobook format). I think that Toni was a really cute character, although her stubbornness was irritating. I also find it not so plausible that someone could remember that many "rules" for that many years, but not important lol. I liked this book best out of the Wright Brothers series.
