Publisher's summary

Holidays are best spent with the ones you love, especially when adventure is in the offing.

It’s the Christmastide season, and the Hawkins family is at their country estate in Kent. Emmaline, the Countess of Archewyne, is excited, for it’s her first Christmas with her little family, as well as one of the few she’s spent in England.

Passing his leisure time with his loved ones gives Miles Lawrence Hawkins, the fifth Earl of Archewyne, great pleasure, as does anticipating their faces when they open his gifts. And he’s found the most splendid thing for his wife - a fresh archaeological dig of ancient Roman origin on his property. When plans for Christmas Eve preparations go awry and Miles is taken hostage at gunpoint, Emmaline is at her wit’s end.

Heartsick and worried, only a clue from some overly affectionate geese will be able to save her beloved’s life. If she can reach him in time, they’ll both find themselves beguiled on a Christmas morning.

Listen to the other books first

I loved the narrator of this book. The only voices that she did that I didn’t like was the children all the rest were terrific.
I have read other thieves of the ton books and you will definitely get more out of this fun book if you know more about the characters before you listen to this one. That said I enjoyed this book a lot.

Don’t start with this one

A charming short listen featuring the characters from Thieves of the Ton, Miles and Emmeline. A Christmas adventure features kidnapping and geese, and seems to come between books 4 and 5 of the series. I enjoy shorter listens and this one had a good story with plenty of action in a reasonable timeframe. I had not heard this narrator before, and it took a few minutes to get used to her, but once I did I enjoyed the performance.

A good holiday adventure

Never a dull moment with this couple. I love how they take turns rescuing each other. Cindy was psycho, but did a quick 180 for some reason her brain clicked in. Wow!! I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job bringing it to life.
