Good read, good entertaining series
My fourth read/listen from author C.S. Johnson was another interesting spin and expansion/re-telling of a traditional fairy tale, the thought of reading a “fairy tale” doesn’t particularly appeal to me but since I was gifted books #2, #3 & #4 in Audible editions I wanted to read book #1 first and I’m glad I did. This series has moved way beyond the traditional “fairy tale”. Extremely well written, the characters, well developed. I’m a character reader, I get into the characters. Who and what they are. Why they do the things they do. The things that make the reader get invested into the characters and thereby the story. Johnson has taken a traditional “short” fairy tale & expanded it into a wonderful 4 book series.I’ll be reading more from this author! I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018)
