When the popular crowd at Brentwood High votes me Most Likely to Marry a Math Book, I’m ready to put my ruler into the eye of any egotistical jock who comes near me. Including the idolized Bobcats quarterback, Connor Bray, when he asks me to tutor him. His only requirement? Our tutoring sessions must be secret—meaning that because Connor is too embarrassed to be seen with the resident math geek, I can’t even tell my boyfriend I’m helping Brentwood High’s all-star player. And when Connor begins to give me lessons in love, it starts to feel like I’m the one getting schooled.

In the tradition of Out of My Mind, Wonder, and Mockingbird, this is an intensely moving middle grade novel about being an outsider, coping with loss, and discovering the true meaning of family. Willow Chance is a 12-year-old genius, obsessed with nature and diagnosing medical conditions, who finds it comforting to count by sevens. It has never been easy for her to connect with anyone other than her adoptive parents, but that hasn’t kept her from leading a quietly happy life...until now.

Some days, all you need is a message from a stranger. Ruby Santos knew exactly what she was getting herself into when she signed up to write a soldier overseas. The guidelines were simple: one letter or email a week for the length of his or her deployment. Care packages were optional. Been there, done that. She thought she knew what to expect. What she didn't count on was falling in love with the guy.

As a sorority pledge, there are commandments that Katie Vickery must live by. One: Thou shalt not show up for the party without a date. Two: The guy shall be an athlete, preferably an upperclassman. This is a story about two teens falling in love over a summer that throws everything possible to keep them apart. Max: Chill. Sports. Gay and not a big deal. And a secret: An encounter with an older kid that makes it hard to breathe, one that he doesn't want to think about, ever. Jordan: The opposite of chill. Poetry. His "wives" and the Chandler Mall. Never been kissed and searching for Mr. Right, who probably won't like him anyway. And a secret: A spiraling out of control mother, and the knowledge that he's the only one who can keep the family from falling apart.

A true beauty
Beauty and the Beach is a charming retelling of Beauty and the Beast that explores what makes a person beautiful and how their tragedies can shape them but not define them. Adam and Rose are well developed characters with an interesting story involving romance, surfing, and misunderstandings set in a tourist beach town. The narrator does a great job changing voices between characters and drawing listeners into the story. An excellent read, especially for fans of Jenn Bennett’s Alex, Approximately.

amazing sweet YA romance
A beautifully well written amazing quick YA romance. This addicting storyline had me engaged from beginning to end with realistic story. This sweet romance included sad moments, jealousy, declarations, a little drama, different social circles and a fun twist told from dual POVs. The characters were interesting and both growing and learning from their mistakes throughout making for an amazing story. The narration was done effortlessly distinguishing between each character and with just the right amount of emotion really bringing the story to life.

Cute retelling in Contemporary genre
Voice and audio are perfect.
Story is cute but for me personally a bit nervewrecking at times in the beginning because I have made really, really bad decisions in my youth (and still lol) but the way these main characters live... the girl had a major thing happening and was as shallow as the sea is deep at the beginning that it bothered me. Okay, she this is a retelling of beauty and the beast with amnongst other things, a gender switch. And therein lies the shallow part that I have never been able to get: SPOILER ALERT, she has a nasry scar. And well, I can rate her scar a 5% on the scale of the scars on my arm from a nasty third degree burn years ago and even though I was “only” 18, it never bothered me outside the “keeping it out of the sun or it burns immediately those first years. Could not understand why my aunt was asking me whether I considered plastic surgery. So, I’m not the idle type and therefor, the “beast-part” was annoyingly shallow in my book. So I guess others might relate more so for me personally, this only gets 3 stars, personal preference. But objectively, as fixed on the wrong thing (like I keep calling this shallow) as most teens and hell, even adults can ever get, I think it’s worth the 4 stars. Luckily though (especially for me lol), she contemplates and grows significantly so my annoyance didn’t last too long. The boy on the other hand... I cannot believe he was okay to forgo (that particular type of) his morals. I guess desparate makes very stupid... But even given the fact that it starts out as me looking like the adult screaming in their faces ‘what do you think you’re doing?’, the story did have it’s cute and lovely moments and went in the right direction so I had a wonderful time anyway. And at least they both learned very important lessons!

Cute and Sweet
Rose is the popular girl in town who just happens to have a secret. She’s become a sort of recluse and another less popular girl wants yo know why. Adams is the “poor boy” in town. Him and his mom are having a hard time financially since his dad died a year earlier. He’s offered money yo find out what Rose’s secret is. He reluctantly agrees because his family needs the money. He meets Rose and the more he gets to know her the more he realizes that she’s not the girl he thought she was. I liked both Adam and Rose. Beauty and the Beach is a cute story but also a good example of why you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover.

A teen romance
This book I think is supposed to be a different type of Beauty and the Beast retelling. The girls name is Rose. She is the one that has the scar not the boy Adam. She was the one that was referred to as the beauty before her disfigurement. This was a clean cute story about a girl who gets skin cancer and becomes a recluse for a short period of time. A boy who needed money was convinced to spy on her to find out why she was not going out. He needed the money. But he finds Rose intriguing and he doesn’t know if he can go through with telling Rose’s secrets.

who is the real beauty?
Rose was the high school mean girl and Adam was from the wrong side of town. He is asked to find dirt on Rose by a friend who Rose was mean to. What happens when Rose and Adam meet? I loved how she changed and how he really saw her. I was waiting for the angst and it came but I loved how the author handled it. The narrator did a good job of switching characters and making me see what was happening.

A short sweet tale in the vein of Beauty and the Beast. Kayla Tirrell did a great job of portraying how these teens handled the situations that they were faced with.

Short but sweet YA beach romance
I love Beauty and the Beast stories. This one is simple but well done. Rose is already a humbled "beast" by the time Adam stumbles into her life, but she's struggling with the lonely emptiness of her life, & you realize that he is too, in his own way. It's sweet how they connect.
The narrator does a great job with the different characters' voices.

Story
Izzy Knight walked away from her father's billions and his Titans football team to become a nurse practitioner at a children's hospital. She's busy and accomplished and certainly has no room in her life for a larger-than-life football player who goes through women faster than she completes a shift at the hospital. Xavier Newton loves football but hates the games that go along with it. When the owner of the Titans forces him and his buddies to be sold like cattle at a bachelor auction he barely endures the event, until a feisty brunette bids half a million dollars for him.

Dear Internet: I (33F) work at a local paper, and two months ago, my editor assigned me a huge project - run the upcoming, highly anticipated Bachelor Anonymous contest. Men from all over Southern California, vying for the coveted bachelor role, submitted their personal ads to my paper. The readers voted, and Single Dad Seeks Juliet won by a landslide. Enter Mr. Bachelor Anonymous (40M), the single-dad Romeo seeking his Juliet. Blah, blah, blah, right? Wrong. This guy is the ultimate man in a six-foot-three, chiseled-muscle, freaking Adonis package with aquamarine eyes.
