Another great romance told by Erin!!

Erin Mallon has so much passion in her narrations. She is just one of the best. This was an absolute well written story and narration by Erin. Nate was flawed but passionate; Michael was the boy next door who loved Brooklyn too. She was loved differently by both men. That would be such a dream for any woman. I loved this story and highly recommend you enjoy it too.

HOLY DRAMA!!

I loved the story line and the characters, the first 75% of the book was great (mostly) but once they find their way it takes a turn for the worst for me. I don't enjoy extreme drama and the last part of this book was nothing but drama. The jealousy doesn't work for me... If you can't trust each other then you shouldn't be together!! That part for me was immature and turned this 4.5 star book into a 3.5 star book. I will also say that the very first scene wasn't really realistic to me but they were teenagers so I can get past that and did very quickly. I loved the emotional aspect of this book, my heart broke at one part but I love when people pick up and move forward.

The narration was PERFECT... It's Erin Mallon so I expect nothing else!!

Teenage mentality - terrible narrator

Regretfully I listen to this whole thing. The narrator over pronunciations her words. Dragging out the last letter .. “What is it about him-aaaah. Looking at me from across the room-aaaah”.. The story line was an immature romance . Found myself eye rolling. Allot. Ugh.

Be My Reason

I enjoy Samantha Christy's writing and this story was no exception. I also have enjoyed other books by this narrator. However, the narration in this book made it difficult for me to listen. I kept starting and stoping the book because of the strange tone and overly breathy quality.

Good Story but...

I enjoyed this story but I think it would have been a 5 star if it had had dual narration. There was a little too much of hearing Brooklyn's thoughts all the time.
Still an okay story though.

Not Worth the Credit

I have a low tolerance for ridiculous adolescent angst and this book is filled with it. Brooklyn is mooning and hurt over a guy, Nate, that she had a crush on in high school. Now mind you she had a crush from a far and never actually went out with Nate. She accidentally ended up with him one night and found out that he liked her too. They spent their one night together talking and became each others first. It was a beginning and might have turned into something more but tragedy struck Nate's family and his dad pulled his family out of town literally overnight. Eventually, everyone in town heard the rumors about his family and what happened but instead of Brooklyn being sympathetic towards the drama and pain his family was going through she was pissed he never got in touch with her. I mean she was the ultimate self-centered teenager who had no capacity of concern for how Nate's life fell apart. Years later she's still mad at him and hasn't grown-up beyond that. Her fiancee unfortunately, who was a really good guy, got the short end of this story. I'm sorry but this was just ridiculous. Talk to one another and all of this crap wouldn't have went down the way it did. This was teenage nonsense, even though they became adults, and not worth the credit. Erin Mallon is a good narrator but she needs a male counterpart because her breathy, whiny voice grates on you if its for the entire book without a break.

Urrrrrrr

OMG, I just can't finish. Something about the narrator's cadence is just off and on top of it the story isn't captivating. I only made it to chapter 4 but I just can't go any further........

OMG, soooo immature

Painful.

Painful storyline.

PAINFUL Performance. Whiny and immature.

It started out promising. Then just turned ridiculous and borderline offensive. The male lead was romantic and wonderful one minute, then a verbal abuser the next. Way to make that OK. The female lead is too forgiving.

Every emotion!

If you are looking for a book to give you every emotion, Samantha Christy has written it. After getting over Nate, her high school crush, Brooklyn has opened a bakery and found the man of her dreams. Michael is everything she ever hoped for in a man, and he loved her! When Nate comes back into her life, confusion sets in, but not enough to pull her from her true love. When the unthinkable happens though, she swears off men, only to be thrown back together with her first love. Nate has baggage, more than the average person. Will these two be able to work through their brokenness to find their happy ending? Samantha Christy took me on a whirlwind of emotion. I loved the high school drama, the happiness and security with Michael. But the heat and chemistry that exists with Nate is something every woman can relate to. That tug of first love is hard to forget and Christy captures it completely. Nate and Brooklyn are every person's history, something in each that we relate to with each of their feelings. It's a book that will wring you out and build you back up finding your faith in true love.

Narrated by the talented Erin Mallon, I love how she draws you in and you become the character right along with her. Her ease with dialogue makes it feel comfortable, just like you are there listening to the conversations and as always, her voices are amazing.

Wow!!!!

My first ever Samantha Christy book and CERTAINLY NOT MY LAST! Wow, I have no words. I began listening last night and have pretty much spent the entire day listening to and finishing this book. I loved every single chapter, each word. The characters were so perfectly introduced and described that it was easy to feel the emotion. I’ve laughed, I’ve cried... it’s been a rollercoaster that’s for sure haha! Downloading my second SC book as we speak! 10/10

Best yet

Nate, Brooklyn and doctor Micheal - OMG
I cried so much - there isn’t a love triangle, but a story of two childhood sweethearts reunited years later, but can they make it work years later? Love the characters, story kept me wanting more - must read

3.75 Emotionally Drained stars

🌟🌟🌟.75 Emotionally Drained Stars

I really enjoyed this story, but i did feel slightly emotionally drained after it had finished!

Brooklyn and Nate have always had a thing, from High School where they hooked up that one time and gave each other their V card, to the time they met again 8 years later at a convention.

You see, even though Brooklyn is engaged to someone else, she had always remembered Nate, always wondered about him, always wondered "What If"

And suddenly, as if it was meant to be, here is is!

The thing is, he is now a slightly over jealous, anxiety ridden chap, don't get me wrong, they are super cute together, but his jealous rages and stalking tendencies seemed to me a little scary, and the relationship seemed to be slightly toxic, i would personally tell Brooklyn to stay clear, but maybe that is me seeing things that are not really there.

🎧🎧 Narration by the always amazing Erin Mallon made this book very enjoyable, it is a new author to me, and i will certainly be looking for others that she has written

I couldn't stop listening to this one it was the perfect story. Brooklyn has been in love with Nate for years after one night together he vanished not to bee seen till years later but Brooklyn has moved on and is about to get married until a tragedy befalls Brooklyn she is once again alone. Brooklyn and Nate have to work together and in doing so old feelings start to surface but can they work things out and have a HEA. This book has so much feeling it had me in tears a few times . The fact that it had Erin Mallon narrating just made it even better she is just amazing I could listen to her all day. I will definitely be telling my girlfriends about this one. A must listen you will love it.

Hmmm

So I loved all the other books by Samantha Christy but this one. Brooklyn just came of like a perpetual teenager and her and Nate's relationship was toxic. Yes people can change but there wasnt much change shown in this book. It woulda been better if some of the book was in Nate's POV.
