Publisher's summary

I've never spent a day without my mate since arriving on the ice planet. I'm happy and in love, and we have a beautiful child together. All that changed when the world shook.

My mate nearly died.

He wakes up from his coma...and he can't remember me. Or our son. Every memory of the past two years is gone. And that changes everything between us. How can I love someone that doesn't remember me?

How can I not, when I know he's still my mate underneath it all?

Contains mature themes.

whiny female alert

I really like a series. But his particular one, the main character female just whines. The entire book. I really would like give me the opportunity to slap her in the back of the head to wake her up. Life happens get over it and get past it.. Unfortunately, the entire book is less about action, and more about what's going on inside of her head.

Umm you forgot the sex

Not enough sex. Stacy whines and whines but no sex . I’m here for the sex.

Painfully weepy, dense heroine

Should’ve made it a drinking game to drink every time Stacey cries, complains, or looks to the negative side of things. Except I don’t drink. Drat. Fast forwarded in 30 second increments every time Stacey was on. Very unsatisfying book. I got the first 6 books for “free” through Audible Escape flat monthly rate and loved them. Haven’t felt any book since then was worth the full price demanded. Feels like the author is working overtime to earn money and struggling to come up with different plots for each new alien/human couple.

Re-building a life.

This is book 9 in the ICE PLANET BARBARIAN SERIES and while each story stands alone, I recommend they be read in order.

This is Stacy and Pashov’s story. I was hesitant about reading it because of the numerous negative reviews about Stacy’s so-called whining and poor-me attitude. It’s no spoiler to say that about 2 years ago Stacy and 20 other women or so were kidnapped from Earth and dropped on an Ice Planet, frightened, alone and freezing. Stacy met her resonance barbarian mate, Pashov, immediately and has a child with him. She’s lived a sheltered life while on her new Ice Planet home, and then her mate suffers amnesia after almost dying. With that background, I didn’t feel Stacy was a complainer at all. In fact, I found her attitude was normal in the circumstances and that she was resilient. If she complained and whined (I don’t feel she did), I would not have blamed her.

This is a story of a couple learning to cope with amnesia, and learning to live a life together after literally losing everything (except each other, their baby and community of people).

While this was not my favourite, I still thought it was a solid entry into the series. I’m glad I read it, and I should not have hesitated. I loved visiting the Ice Planet and its people. It was like visiting good friends.

Audible narrators Hollie Jackson and Mason Lloyd do a wonderful job bringing the characters to life.

This series has been a welcome and unexpected boost to my romance listening enjoyment. Not a dull moment.

I recommend this series.

Awwwwwww Another Amazing story

I have been listening to all the books and cant stop listening. They are all great stories and this one was wonderful as well. I saw a few reviews about how Stacey was boo hooing too much, but they got through it. I would be pretty messed up too if my mate was hurt and lost all memory of me too. I love the series and everyones experiences. Cant wait for more and I will be sad when it ends. :-)

OMG!

I usually love Ruby Dixon’s stories but Stacy drove me crazy. While I have never been in this type of situation I’m sure I would have handled it much better and with less whining. It was not Pashov’s fault he was hurt in the earthquake but Stacy blames him. This is the only book where I actually yelled at Stacy while listening because she was so stupid!!!

This was another great story in the series. Stacy was annoying to me but it was worth the credit. These have been my favorite books so far and I've read hundreds!

Stacey is a major witch

The female lead Stacey is a major witch. She acts like a child. Instead of being thankful her mate is alive she yells at her male and treats him so badly. She should have been thankful. She could try and build a new relationship if he never remembers again. But she is a cry baby instead.

Genuinely Beautiful

Stacy & Pashov's story is both my favorite and least favorite. I love how relatable Stacy is and how adorably clueless Pashov is but the story is absolutely heartwrenching! Just goes to show Ruby knows how to tug on our heartstrings.

Stacy is unbearable

Stacy is pathetic, dim and self-absorbed. The high pitched girly voice the narrator uses to voice her is either cruelly ironic or irritatingly apt. The story is ok but I wouldn’t have persevered with it had I not been following the series. The most unlikeable character I’ve encountered recently, if not ever.

Almost good

The MFC is an annoying whining drip, this is the first character I’ve not liked after 25 ish books in this world. Glad the MMC was delightful and the story concept was good so I still enjoyed the book. The narration was perfect as normal.

Not sure so far. Few hours left...

So far.... spoilers btw

Pashov nearly died and when recovered couldn't remember Stacy or his child. Despite that, he's trying to be her mate again and a father again, whilst struggling with the fact he can't remember them and wishing he could. Yet, it doesn't seem good enough for Stacy because he doesn't do the things he did before, like touch her the way he had or kiss her. She sleeps with him and then regrets it because she feels it's a betrayal to his old self and feels guilty. Wtf? Seriously, I can understand she misses certain things between them, but at least he's alive!! and is trying to make her happy. Doesn't that count for something? You'd think him being dead would be worse than losing his memory of her and their kit, but it isn't coming across that way. They have a second chance where they can make new memories, but she just seems to want the old him. She comes across as ungrateful and selfish, despite her telling herself otherwise and trying to make up excuses. She is my least favourite female in this series so far... whuch is something as i liked all the others. It would have made more sense if he were the reluctant one considering he was the one who almost died and lost his memory, but it's her.

Never thought I'd say this about one of these books, but it's annoying me so bad right now...or at least Stacy is. Despite that, it's still entertaining and I'll continue to listen on just to see how the others are and their move to the new home found in the previous book.

the least story I liked of Ruby's good series .

I'm not a great lover of thr trope "and baby makes 3" and although I do listen to this style in other romances. I've liked all the series even though the
kits have been the additions but ruby always adds some fun and adventure to them. but in this one Stacey is portrayed as ....well...dumb! But that's a bit harsh I guess. she's a home maker and my style of heroine is Liz. but on saying that, she's been on the planet long enough to know that these blue guys lack finess and communication regarding relationships. gah! I wanted to shake her!!!!
I did read Ruby's blueb re this book and she dud say she wanted it to be tamer especially after the upheaval of the last books. but not for me! I'm an action girl
I'm glad they found another home and that's the only reason I went to this novel, to see their new home. But waaaay to much family, baby and mush.
if you like family saga and 2nd chance relationship building with little suspense then this instalment is gorgeous you.
I'm skipping Asha's story..book 10 as I don't want a mushy repeat. however Farleys story sounds better.

The performance made me cry

The story was good, but the delivery of one part of the story utterly broke my heart and I had tears.
I loved that this story was a bit different to the rest.

Love Story

I love the whole series! Fantastic world building that describes how stranded modern women integrate into a tribal culture of tall, hot, and build, matter of fact aliens - all wrapped up with a steamy sexy sweet romance. The characters are all unique throughout the whole series. Some books have more action then others, which focus more on tribal life and personal struggles. I can't even pick one book as my favourite - I'm afraid you'll have to read them all including the spin off series 'Ice Home'. Fantastic male/ female narrators for the audiobook version too.

***Barbarian's Heart***

A heart breaking story of lost memories, homes and loved ones. To be honest I was a bit annoyed of Stacy because she was so negative and all she thinks about is poor me and not even try to understands what is Pashov been through and the shocked that he forgot his mate and son, but in the other hand it's also heart breaking for Stacy for her mate to forget her and Pacy on top of losing their homes. It's a very sad and challenging story but I'm glad they figured it all out in the end.

Beautiful second chance story

Listened to the audio that's just come out for this book, I enjoy the narrators so much. What a great second chance story between Pashov and Stacy, one of the many couples on Ruby's ice planet.

You might think the variables of retelling a story of how couples get together on an ice planet where there are no cities or towns, or anything other than a bunch of humans and aliens, would get old or are limited, but Ruby manages to weave a new, wonderful story line into each of the couples getting together. Every story is so different, Ruby has tackled a range of mental health issues, trauma, sexual abuse and physical disabilities into her stories and this one is just as compelling.

Pashov and Stacy are already mated and have a son, they have been together right from the start, when Stacy was awakened from the pod on the space ship, they resonated very quickly, so it is really devastating when an earthquake hits the cave and causes a major upheaval. Pashov is hurt badly by falling rocks and is in a coma for days, when he wakes, he has no memory of his mate or his child and so begins a beautiful story of a resonated couple finding each other again. I really loved this story.
And, if you have no idea what I'm talking about when I say "resonated", you will have to go and start book 1 of the series and find out :)
