Publisher's summary

Breaking up was never so hard...

Going undercover at a mass wedding as a bartered bride, Morrigan Blake has every intention of getting off the barbaric planet just as soon as it's over. Or, more correctly, just as soon as she captures footage of the mysterious princes rumored to be in attendance. After a euphoric night, Morrigan discovers her spaceship left without her, and Ualan of Draig is claiming she's his wife. It's not exactly the story this reporter had in mind. And to make matters worse, the all-too-seductive alpha refuses to take no for an answer.

Being cursed by the gods was never so frustrating...

Prince Ualan is prepared to follow dragonshifter tradition and marry the woman revealed to him during the Breeding Festival. When the stubborn, yet achingly sexy, Morrigan refuses to accept their shared fate and his supreme authority over her, it is all he can do to keep from acting like the barbarian she accuses him of being.

About the series: The dragon shifting Princes have no problem with commitment. In one night, they will meet and choose their life mate in a simplistic ceremony involving the removing of masks and the crushing of crystals. With very few words spoken and the shortest, most bizarre courtship in history, they will bond to their women forever. And once bonded, these men don't let go. Too bad nobody explained this to their brides.

Dragon Lords-Barbarian Prince Anniversary Edition

What made the experience of listening to Barbarian Prince the most enjoyable?

I have read the original and anniversary editions of The Barbarian Prince and really loved the book. I found listening to the audible version brought a different light to the story, it is a great story both to read and listen to.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Although the Ualan is a very swoonworthy hero I really loved Morrigan's personality. She is not only a career woman she is also independent, strong, pretty and spirited.Loved her inner dialogue and perspective while formulating an undercover story as an Intergalactic reporter. She has no hesitation getting the full "bride experience" because she views the whole marriage as temporary. She never saw a gorgeous, hot alpha prince picking her as his bride, nor her reaction to his claiming.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

The pace was well done, with audible if you feel need to speed up or slow down the narration. As talented as this narrator is his male accents were often sounding like Eastern European in origin. I really felt a female voice would have suited this story so much better.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were many moments in the book I really enjoyed. I always love the often humerous Galaxy Bride trip to the Qurilxian planet, and the Breeding Festival is always exciting and very sensual.I also love when Morrigan realizes her place is to stay with Ualan and chooses him over her undercover story. Despite the bumpy road their story they make a great couple.

Any additional comments?

This is the first book in an awesome series. It sets up many of the characters, unique ustoms and rituals that will appear throughout the series as well as developing this phenomenal world that Michelle Pillow has created. There is lots of romance, hot sexy scenes, adventure and humor to make this a great listening experience.

Caution: There be dragons afoot

I didn't know what to expect when I started listening to this. The story line was imaginative and had many surprises in store for the ladies looking for a husband. The brides did not know the men were dragon shifters and that some of their traditions were cave man like. But the ladies showed some backbone the men were not expecting. The only thing I did not like was the word used for the women's happy zone. Overall I enjoyed it.

interesting

What did you love best about Barbarian Prince?

I love that it has my fave shifters, dragons, and it is the reason I picked this up. Interesting mix of the futuristic and shifter with a medieval feel to it.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ualan of Draig is my fave character, the warrior with a tender heart. Even though Morrigan hurt him so many times, he is so good to her. I also loved the Queen.

Which scene was your favorite?

My fave scene was almost at the end when they were in the closet and she is communicating with her editor.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not at the beginning, but as it went on, made me want to just sit and listen. to find out what is next. I listened while in the car, while cooking...

Any additional comments?

I am looking forward to listen to more on the series with this narrator. Great voice. He did a wonderful job with Ualan and most other characters, but I feel that needed more emotion with Morrigan's voice especially in the love scenes. What she said and what she sounded like didn't quite match.

Refreshing change

I really enjoyed this book. It was obviously paranormal genre but strong human characters. The storyline kept me involved and invested in both the main characters.

A love story as well as a story involving self-discovery especially on the part of the female lead who learns there are real benefits in needing others as she slowly lowers her walls and let's the handsome warrior who she finds herself married to into her heart.

I found the narration very good as well.

Future King needs lessons on wooing.

Where does Barbarian Prince rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Up near the top.

What other book might you compare Barbarian Prince to and why?

All of the Dragon Lords books.

Have you listened to any of Mason Lloyd’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, this was good as they always are.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did listen to a great deal in one sitting, and would have loved to listen to it all.

Any additional comments?

This is one of the first Dragon Prince books and I had read it a while back. I enjoyed just relaxing and letting Mr. Lloyd tell the story. Reporter, Morrigan, goes UC to get a story from this little-known planet's mating rituals. With few woman on the planet they import "brides" hoping to find fated mates for their men. In this first group of women, all four princes find their mates. Now they just have to get the women to want to stay. Once that happens they need to learn how to deal with earth women. Not an easy task for these warrior dragon shifters. Ualan, eldest son and future king, has his hands full. Rigan thought she'd get her story and catch a return ride home. Not happening. The couple has feelings and desire each other but it is not an easy time finding the true feelings of the other.

This is steamy, touching, dangerous and has characters you have to love. I recommend this to all.

Barbarian Prince by Michelle M. Pillow

I would rate this story high. The narrator, Mason Lloyd, did an excellent job telling the cute love story of a female reporter wanting to do an investigative report on a planet who wanted female brides. The Galaxy Brides corporation, who sent the brides to the heroes planet, had some unscrupulous practices that she was investigating and she wanted to know more about the men on the planet. She got her wish in a very big way. HEA

really good listen!

I really enjoyed this book. The characters are strongly built.. although heroine could've used some discriotives about her looks, origin, background etc instead of just her reporting career. I did get quite frustrated at her and thought her stupid for fighting him so hard, but she's independent and used to her own life and freedom. I woulve listened to next book out of curiosity but I don't like how all the books are going on at the same time. it gives you some spoilers.

Loved It! Creative, Sexy and Funny!

Barbarian Prince is more of a Sci-Fi romance than true shifter story; however, after the first couple of chapters, I was falling in love with the story. It was creative, sexy, realistic, and full of laughs. Michelle really did an awesome job with the world building, and was very clever with some of the rituals she thought up.

May Contain some spoilers:
Morrigan finds herself stranded, and married to Ualan by accident, and does her best to convince Ualan they are not meant to be, and she won't make a good wife. Morrigan, in her frustrations, unwittingly declares herself a slave, and due to their customs, she ends up having to play the part. Ualan could have her pardoned for her declarations, but he wants Morrigan to admit she's his wife, and to teach her a lesson. However, both of their plans backfire, because while Morrigan is consider Ualan's slave, he cannot pleasure her, and their sexual frustrations grow. Their "battle of the sexes" was funny, steamy, and sexy, I found myself laughing out loud.

Between paranormal and sci-fi romances, sci-fi romances are the most realistic to me, and many aspects of this story felt real. As long as I lived on earth, I've never seen a vampire, shape shifter or any other supernatural being. However, outer space exploration is relatively new for mankind, and we've only seen a small glimpse so far, so we truly do not know what's out there, but the possibilities are endless.

Mason did a great job narrating this story! I liked how he portrayed the male and female characters, along with the different emotions.

I Loved every minute, and will be continuing the series by any means necessary credit or sale.
