Adds Depth to Characters

I liked the back story. However the jumps back and forth between present and past confused me. I was expecting a more linear approach. So that’s on me. Excellent in all regards.

I love Elmer Kelton’s stories. Good plots, lots of action. Funny comments here and there so I get to laugh too. 😁

A story of a situation that really happened more than we think in that era. small children taken and raised by indians.

Realism

Bitter sweet! 1860's Clash of three races. Black, Red, and White. The saga continues to this day in 2025.
