Publisher's Summary
Fang Kattalakis isn't just a wolf. He is the brother of two of the most powerful members of the Omegrion: the ruling council that enforces the laws of the Were-Hunters. And when war erupts among the lycanthropes, sides must be chosen. Enemies are forced into shaky alliances. And when the woman Fang loves is accused of betraying her people, her only hope is that Fang believes in her.
Yet in order to save her, Fang must break the law of his people and the faith of his brothers. That breech could very well spell the end of both their races and change their world forever. The war is on and time is running out.

Decent DH addition
Not the best but better than some of the DH series stories. I have to admit that I wasn't really pulled in with the marketing hype about Fang's story - honestly i didn't think his character was all that interesting before but this story was pretty good.
If you've read through other reviews, you know this story is the Fang/Amy "backstory" during the stories of Talon, Vane and Wren. I thought that was actually very creative and an interesting approach. The only "timeline" issue I struggled with was the end. It seemed to cross over past Acheron's story but didn't connect with some of the goings-on between Tabitha's story to Ash's story. For me, the ending events just hung out there with no timeline connection, like it was a dangling piece that didn't fit into the fabric of the DH series. (True, she has many inconsistencies in her stories - but this one was hard to overlook)
If I were to rank this were-hunter story, it's behind Wren's story but definitely better than Vane's and pet-dander Raven (bleck!).
The real reason I got this is because Holter Graham is the narrator - he has the sexiest voice ever and does an excellent job bringing Sherrilyn Kenyon's unique humor to life. That was the tipping point for me to get this addition and I'm glad I did. I recommend it if you are a DH fan.

Another Triumph for Holter Graham's Narration!
Great story with a great narrator. I really enjoy Holter Graham's work. Through his skillful use of very distinct and clearly identifiable character voices He is able to bring the story to life. Unlike many narrators, all of his voices seem natural and he preserves the precious comedic timing that has been trampled on and lost by his ham handed predecessors.
As for the author, Kenyon has written another good one. She is still going strong with the original and much loved characters without being redundant. She also introduced new characters we can't wait to know better. Still sexy and still violent- so newbies be ware. That said- actual grown ups who enjoy a good paranormal fantasy will likely agree that Kenyon hits the spot every time.

I really liked the book. Narration was good...story line...good. I only wish that Fang and Amy's story would have been more "connected" rather than their story be more of their individual stories. Otherwise...I recommend!

Great Book
Sherrilyn Kenyon has done an excellent job creating the world of Dark Hunters, Demons, and Were-Hunters. I was really excited about this book and was not let down at all. In fact, I stayed up almost all night so I could finish listening to the book. Unlike some of her other books, this one has few love scenes. But I read her books for the actual story- not the love scenes. If you are a fan of Kenyon, you can't go wrong. The narrator was ok (I'm extremely picky) and at least didn't try to give everyone a fake southern accent. I've read all of her books but have been unable to listen to all of them because of atrocious/annoying narrators. I don't think you'll be disappointed with this book.

Better And Better!!!!
Whats different here is that its timeline is a bit different than the others. It starts from the time period of the first book (2003) and ends after the previous book. Here it focuses on the story of the wolf Fang and the bear Amy and their story, which was hinted about in several books before. It was a very interesting story and the full of too much information.
As usual you get to know many new characters, and you get to know more in other characters.
Narration was good !
The ending of this book was one of my favourites, you have to give it a listen to know how good it was.

Good story
I really enjoyed this story. But I feel you need to have read / listened to preceding books to truly get the jist of all the characters which I had not. Also from what I can tell the characters don't always follow directly into the next book which for me is a downside. As a werewolf story though it was very good.

Surprisingly Frustrating and Disappointing
I normally LOVE Ms. Kenyon's work, but this one was NOT up to her usual standards. Don't buy this unless you are prepared to listen to a painfully sluggish story that spent entirely too much time on separate stories for Amy and Fang and not nearly enough time developing their relationship. Too much angst and an obvious ommission of the style that normally makes Kenyon's works so appealing to me. The only good thing about this purchase was listening to Holter Graham - my favorite narrator.
