From its first moments, Hunter takes you on a nonstop thrill ride: from the top floor of the CIA, to the marbled corridors of Capitol Hill...from the posh hotels of downtown Washington, to the city's mean, violent streets. It introduces a colorful new hero for our time - and a dazzling heroine every bit his equal. A spy mystery...a crime thriller...a passionate romance: Hunter is a genre-bending novel unlike any you've read. Deviously plotted, filled with vivid characters, and propelled at a breakneck pace.

Who do you trust? Who can you depend on? James Beltz's modern-day gunslinger, known to the rest of us as DJ Slaughter, returns in this thrilling sequel. Book one left us with a massive cliffhanger. Book two serves to answer all of your burning questions in the very first chapter. However, in a sudden, neck-snapping plot twist, you will only be left with more questions. Nice job, James. Very nice job indeed... The first book was a break-neck pace of thrilling adventure, reminding this reviewer of the first season of the Fox TV series "24".

Any additional comments?
Bad Deeds is the second book in the Hunter series by best-selling thriller writer and award-winning investigative journalist Robert Bidinotto. His debut novel into the Fiction genre, Hunter: A Thriller was a tremendous success and this is the much awaited sequel. If you want, you can check out my review for Hunter: A Thriller here, on Audible, I enjoyed the book very much and compared it to Without Remorse by Tom Clancy.
The story opens with an event that also took place in the first book, but seen from a different perspective. I won’t say anything else in regards to this plot line. After that we join the two main characters, investigative journalist Dylan Lee Hunter and CIA operative Annie Woods, as they spend some well-deserved R&R at a secluded cabin in the Allegheny National Forest. As in their previous adventure, the two are deeply in love and are making plans for the future. Mr. Bidinotto turns on the romance to the max and manages to create some really special moments. The two lovebirds are very happy, but things are about to change.
When the couple ventures into the civilized World for a cup of coffee, they are pulled into something that will threaten everything they’ve worked for so hard, the mutual trust and their ideals as human beings. There is a suspenseful fight scene reminiscent of a Jack Reacher novel, a great trip down memory lane for one of our characters, a group of eco-terrorists, corruption, politics, mysteries, murders and payback.
Bad Deeds is a Thriller first and foremost, filled with mystery and non- stop action, peppered with romantic moments and driven by a great story and amazing characters. I really loved how Robert Bidinotto evolved the character arcs for Dylan, Annie and Garrett, enriching them with every occasion. They all really feel alive and real. The plot is much more complicated than in the previous book, with lots of twists and turns, while the simple black and white / bad vs. evil aspects from Hunter aren’t as easily distinguishable in this one.
I read over 650 books in the last 10 years and I’m glad that these two thrillers by Robert Bidinotto situated themselves in my personal top 25. Mr. Bidinotto writes like the old masters of Suspense and Espionage, I can’t help but to put him alongside names like Tom Clancy, Robert Ludlum and Vince Flynn.
The audiobook version of Bad Deeds is performed by Conor Hall and like with Hunter: A Thriller he did a great job with the narration. He becomes mesmerizing after just a few seconds, reading with talent and passion, giving life to the characters, immersing the listener into the atmosphere with different voices, accents and acting appropriately, as each situation arises.
As I told you before, the Hunter series by Robert Bidinotto is the only experience I had with Conor Hall, but it is enough for me to consider him one of the best voices in the Audiobook Industry with a bright and promising future in front of him.
I’m looking forward to Hunter #3 and to more audiobooks performed by this great narrator.

Exciting, suspenseful and thought provoking
Political corruption and short falls in the justice system causes Dylan Hunter to once again be drawn back into his vigilantly ways; this not only puts him and others in danger but it also causes problems in his personal life. The complex relationship between Annie and Dylan is captivating and the edge-of-your-seat tension the author and narrator creates makes this audiobook difficult to put down. It is a well written, very exciting thriller that follows on well from book one. It can be read as a stand alone but if you read the first in the series prior to this one, you will get a lot more out of it.
Not only is this a great sequel to Hunter, but it also examines the emotions and costs of personal principles/honour vs commitment to loved ones. The points raised and dilemmas faced by the protagonists makes you think, make you consider which one would come first in your life; could you resist following your principles, even if doing so risked your relationship with your loved one? I'm not sure which would be harder to live with, compromising your principles or potentially causing irrevocable harm to your relationship! This story leads you on a complex, suspenseful journey that blurs the lines between right and wrong. Is there such a thing as justifiable homicide or is murder always murder, even when the law has failed us? If we condone individuals taking the law into their own hands, even if it seems the more moral thing to do, are we not taking one step closer to eventual anarchy?
Once again the narrator did an excellent job, bringing to life the characters and infusing emotion into the narrative. The characters individual personalities were easily identified and very well portrayed. I look forward to enjoying the next book in the series. I received this audiobook from the author at no cost in exchange for an honest review.

It's Complicated
Boyfriend, girlfriend antiterrorist in love with a large portion of personal obstacles, along with a choir full of bad guys that don't want the relationship to work out.
This is an entertaining story where solutions always seem to ride at the precise time in order to save the day. Also I may not have mentioned our hero is most likely the sharpest knife in the drawer, and a devious cold blooded killer, if you happen to mess with his circle of friends. I didn't mention his name because in the ending you find out the name he used throughout the book was also an alias.
So lots and lots of unbridled story telling in this book, but the gadgets and lightness in the style of writing makes this book enjoyable.
There will be a next book of fun and adventure.

This one's for Wsyne!
Which character – as performed by Conor Hall – was your favorite?
Conor Hall did a fantastic job with this and the previous book (Hunter).
Any additional comments?
This review is for Wayne, and NO I have never spoken to or met him but I appreciate the feedback he leaves for me in his reviews of books I have reviewed!
I would also like to recommend to him an anyone else who purchases books using kindle's whispersync, I have found the kindle unlimited to be extremely cost effective. Many books are read and listen for free and if it's a read for free only book, you "borrow" the book for free up to ten at a time BUT then you still can purchase the audio version for the reduced price, many as low as $1.99.
This is the second book in this series (Hunter is the first)I thoroughly enjoyed both books. The hero of these books (Dylan Hunter) possesses a combination of recognizable traits from a few popular characters. He's ex CIA, he's a loner with extraordinary combat skills, he believes in justice (especially for the underdog), he's more then then financially secure and has a fiancé who is currently in the CIA. She of course is on again off again as she becomes scared of the violence he is capable of wreaking on those he feels are deserving. I won't spoil anything for anyone but she does learn her lesson. Dylan is like a knight in shining armor with an almost too pure sense of right and wrong. If it's the good guy he'll risk his life to save theirs, if it's the bad guy he'll risk his life to take theirs. You can kind of see where this is going. What really puts him front and center is that he is a reporter for the local newspaper which also gets him close to the people he needs to be close to, those bad boys wanting their 5 minutes in the spot light or on the front page. Plenty of action in both books, some very thought out plans and with each book the protagonists characters are developed just a little more.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Thriller, romance & action!
Loved the story! Dynamic characters and fast moving plot provided an edgy backdrop for the continued romance from book 1. Would love a book on Grant Barret! He's such a great side character. Narrators deep voice was masculine and lent the story a cool big and hunky vibe; perfect for the special ops background.

Another excellent book in this series
This was another really good book in the Dylan Hunter series by Robert Bidinotto. I have to admit that I didn't think it was as good as the first, but it is still really good, and I hope more books are written in the series. This book focuses on fracking, ecoterrorism, and political intrigue, and, of course, vigilante justice. This book has it all: murder, mystery, action, and romance. I listened to the Audible version, which was narrated by Conor Hall. This is the second book I've listened to that he has narrated, and he is definitely becoming one of my favorite narrators. The range in his voice, which allows him to differentiate between characters is incredible. On the last book I listened to by him, I had a little trouble with the volume of the different voices, turning it up to hear the lower voices, then finding it too loud for other voices. I didn't really have that problem with this book. Overall, a great book with great narration, and I highly recommend it.

Great espionage thriller, and love story!
Thanks again to Audible listener Shelley for her wonderful reviews which led me to this audiobook and a dozen others. And thanks to Audible Studios for recording it. If you like thrillers I suggest you follow Shelley for great ideas on new listening material. No, Shelley and I have never met or corresponded. Following me on Audible may not be a good idea because I write very frequent reviews causing frequent emails unless you opt out on your Audible listener page. Also, I listen to a wide range of genres of fiction and non-fiction. Espionage and crime thrillers are my favorites.
Bad Deeds, Dylan Hunter Book 2, is, like Book 1, a great thriller novel. Both novels are interesting genre benders which are difficult to classify. They are crime thrillers, espionage thrillers, vigilante thrillers, and romance novels all at the same time. I have listened to and rated more than 1100 Audible books and have written reviews of more than 560. Picking favorites is difficult, but Bad Deeds would easily make the top ten.
When I recently wrote a review of Hunter I noted that the average Amazon and Audible ratings diverged. That is even more true with Bad Deeds which has an average Amazon rating of 4.7 stars and an average Audible rating of 3.8 stars. It makes even less sense when one considers that the Audible narrator performance rating is higher than the story rating.
If you like espionage thrillers you will likely love Bad Deeds. I look forward to the release of Book 3 in the Hunter series.

Great!
This story grips you. Great characters, and well-written. Terrific performance by Connor Hall, he's great with accents, intonation, and overall voices. I found myself feeling frustrated with Dylan, but later in the book I understood more. Would have liked more backstory from his childhood.
This was less gruesome than Hunter, but still very engaging. I normally listen when I'm on my weekly 1.5-hour drive, but this book found me listening at home too to see what was going to happen!
Can't wait for the next one to come out!

If you like super heroes, please forgive my rating
Over time I grew weary of some of the great ex Seal type super heroes like Mitch Rapp and The Gray Man. Instead I like the more cerebral spymasters and flawed characters like Duffy, Dept Q, Hole and even Bosch.
So what I mean is if you like Rapp, Reacher,, Gray Man, Rain, etcetera, Bad Deeds is a good buy.

Outstanding performance and Author
Very good plot and drama. good twists, turns and surprises. The narrator is very talented in being able to change his voice. you find that you don't want to put it down.
